I've been cleaning and sorting out some second hand furniture I bought and also trying to have a daily walk this week. I walked the few miles to my parents today in glorious sunshine 🌞

@kate_frankie #pttravel A1: I am in Sheffield, UK. This year I aim to visit Scotland a couple of times. Maybe Ireland. We'll see. Neither count as local, but both count as regional.
Locally, I mean I can walk to the Peak District but so can a lot of people. It'll be rammed! :(

I'm currently based between Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Durham in North East England. I'm planning to see more of this region soon and to take smaller UK trips this year. Not sure I'll get a vaccine or be ready to travel further until 2022 so UK travel for now

A1 #PTTravel First opportunity I get, I'm going to my favourite pub.resto in the New Forest. See my granddaughter's new house in Eastbourne & my daughter's new house in Whitby. And, I WILL visit the Great Bustard Centre, on Salisbury Plain (been putting it off for 10 yrs now)

No travel plans yet for 2021. If & when lockdown ends then I am thinking of a trip to the Caribbean but right now I'd be happy to walk in Henley on Thames after a visit to the local barber. #PTTravel A1

Like, for example, yeh Hadrian's Wall will be rammed, but take a footpath off it, say the Pennine Way up towards Bellingham, and I'd imagine it'd be quite quiet. #pttravel Same with beaches. Find a small one.

@kate_frankie Flying as schools are still open on the Friday of the weekend, and if we got the ferry wouldn’t be arriving until late.
But have got the ferry in the past, it’s a nice drive up from Cairnryan.
As there is now a tram from the airport, not renting a car either.

You'll've all seen my pics of the Peak District ... but there's also prehistoric caves at Creswell, pretty towns like Haworth and Hebden Bridge, and several things that will reopen at some point (like the Magna Industrial Museum).

replying to @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie #pttravel A2: there's also, as befits an area once covered with heavy industry, a whole host of country parks. There's a bird wetland site in the Dearne Valley, and a nice landscaped area with woodland and lakes at Rother Valley.

@kate_frankie #pttravel A1 and A2: There's a. i'm not quite sure how long, 50 mile maybe? marked footpath (*) around the edge of Sheffield that encompasses Rother Valley, Stanage Edge, and other spots around the city.
(* except around Meadowhall, where I got lost! Lots of footpaths meet!)

I want to explore the country much more, I just ... haven't seem to have made it a priority yet!
