replying to @aok_NW @aok_NW It was completely different than seeing animals in any other context. So great to do a safari drive #PTTravel

#Serengeti #Tanzania is one of those places where you can admire the natural history but there is also plenty of human history interacting with the landscape #PTTravel A2

Exhibit A: Southern Africa, from cave paintings, through lost kingdoms, to colonialisation & apartheid.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @DawnCorleone #pttravel Anything would be an improvement on the old Cairo Museum. When we visited in 1993, it was more like a warehouse or store-room.

@kate_frankie #pttravel A2: Exhibit B: Central Asia.
From ancient civilisations to old Silk Road cities, and the best and worst of Soviet planning.

replying to @aok_NW @aok_NW Lived in Cocoa Beach when I was 5 or 7? For a few years. Mom would take us kids outside to watch "Dad's missile" test flight every time. :-) #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 @EvergladesNPS @VISITFLORIDA for both. My grandparents lived in the Everglades for 25 years. #PTTravel

A2 #PTTravel Australia! If you can find somewhere with First Nation guides, you learn so much. There's a lot they aren't allowed to tell you, but there's much besides the taboo subjects.

replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot I appreciate on a deep level that you are calling these exhibits. Well played #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie hahaha I was thinking of the more 'used in a legal courtoom' sense than a museum sense lol #pttravel

replying to @CharlesMcCool @CharlesMcCool @EvergladesNPS @VISITFLORIDA Another area that seems fascinating but I still haven't made it to in USA. On the list #PTTravel

@kate_frankie #pttravel A3: ooof, hmmm, I don't think I have many pics *inside* museums.
There were a couple of places in Malta tho where there was history literally underneath your feet, which were set in museum-like environments, and old buildings that served as museum-like places.

replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith @kate_frankie I was there in 1996 and it was the same. Truly mind blowing artifacts but not the best floor plans . #pttravel

replying to @FE_photograph @FE_photograph @NomadKeith @kate_frankie Thank you! #pttravel

replying to @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie #pttravel A3 - a couple of those pics in my previous tweet were from Hagar Qim, which is one of the oldest extant buildings in the world. Albeit somewhat reproduced.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Every place is fascinating if you pay attention, and find someone to tell you the history. But, simplifying, Galicia, in northern Spain, has a wonderful natural patrimony, and an ancient and surprising history. I love to discover it day after day. #pttravel
