Welcome to #PTTravel Chat!
How are you this week and what have you been doing?
I've been working & getting to know my brand new, beautiful little nephew
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie That’s lovely. We’ve had a pleasant walk around Ripon today and looking forward to a couple of nights away the week after next. #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Good evening, all. Spread my wings this weekend with a trip to Kingsbarns. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Lots of walking literally around (the edge of) Sheffield. #pttravel
#Portugal has several weekend break sized cities. #Evora with its #UNESCO world heritage stamp is one of the best. #PTTravel A1

A1 I did used to do long weekends all of the time. France, Spain, Belgium, Amsterdam, London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness/Skye, Iceland, Switzerland, Norway and Poland are the ones I can remember. Its my kind of travel!
A1 This our MO and all the talk of expensive testing on return hass been a worry that our travel preference may have to change. We tend to do around 10 each year. Last year we managed Bilbao, Venice, Vilnius, Granada and Tuscany - not bad for 2020. #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1 long weekends are great for going to somewhere in your own country, or getting a short flight for a weekend city trip like I did for Berlin! #pttravel

A1- I tend to travel a lot on long weekends. It gives you enough time to figure out whether a place is worth coming back to for a longer visit.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1. Absolutely. I’ve got a couple of nights in Argyll coming up and I’m looking at another short break in Moray. I’ve done Prague and Rome in the past, but Europe’s off the cards for the foreseeable future. #PTTravel
A2 More often than not we will fly and either hotels or apartments - got to be nice but I'm not in the habit of paying a fortune. Take Venice for example £50 return flights and 4* room with breakfast and a view for £65 p/n. #pttravel
A2 #PTTravel Our own car, usually; sometimes @nationalexpress Usually stay with friends/relatives ... but have been known to trawl the web for something close by & not too expensive

@kate_frankie A2 Planes, trains, automobiles and. a TARDIS in Cardiff!
Accom depends on type of getaway- luxurious vs budget. But Im not a camper. #pttravel
For weekend city breaks I like to stay in the centre to maximize my visiting time. My hotel in #Antwerp backed on to this view #PTTravel A2

A2- In the US I usually drive. In Asia, trains are the way to go. But, you can't beat the price for flights on the discount carriers.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2. Trains and buses unless I’m travelling with someone who has a car. Even then I prefer public transport where possible. #PTTravel
