Q1 Some regions of the world are having lockdowns and struggling currently with pandemic infection surges. Does this affect travel plans or your desire to go overseas?

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel A1: we had plans to visit places (West Africa being the prime one) but these are delayed because we don't feel it right to go visiting them while they are suffering with the pandemic; even if we're vaccinated, we're still taking up room.

A1 I wouldn’t want to go just now even though I’ve had 2 jabs. Too much testing and hassle, particularly for us short-breakers. 1st booking is end of August to somewhere familiar. Got our fingers crossed! #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1 Yes it does to a great extent. Although I dream of travel every other day but I would like to wait. Safety first.
Haven't traveled since February 2020.#pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1 I am still up in the air about a trip to Mexico for snorkeling. I really want to go, but I just don't know if I'm ready for that yet. #PTTravel

A1 #pttravel It does in terms of my first trip will probably be to a place where they accept proof of vaccination such as Europe or anywhere I don’t have a stick shoved up my nose.

A1 It affects work travel completely so who knows when I get back to China, India or Latin America. I also don't feel like trying overseas yet. I don't want to put pressure on countries or end up in quarantine on the return. Its just too much for a short break

A1 Overseas travel is not yet a consideration. In fact, land travel to Canada is still not an option. #PTTravel

A1 #pttravel It pays to research even more carefully than usual. You may be able to get out ... but, will your destination accept you? How onerous are their entry conditions?

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1. Yes. I had to miss my UK and France visit last year, and so far, it doesn’t look promising for this year, either. However, other countries in Europe may be open although the situation is dynamic. #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1 I really don't mind keeping the masks for airline travel. I have always kind of felt gross on planes anyway. #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1. Yes. I had to cancel my plans because it doesn’t make sense to quarantine in the hotel for 7-14 days. By the time it’s done, it’s time to fly back home. 😕 #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1. It definitely does. I resisted at first but after four separate trips were cancelled in 2020 I’ve decided to just let the pandemic play out. The world can and probably should wait until Covid has run its course. #PTTravel
