Q4 How will your trip affect the local ecosystem/local economy?

A4 #pttravel Depends what I'm doing. The choice of hotel isn't always mine, but, if it is, I'll choose a local one rather than an international chain. And, if I can, I'll eat at local restaurants, and seek locally-made souvenirs.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel A4: generally when I travel I stay in B&Bs/guesthouses/spare rooms in people's houses via AirBnB.

The other aspects of travel are quite ... vague & varied; I tend to go to places where there isn't much of an alternative to community-based infratsructure!

replying to @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie #pttravel A4: like - I need to catch a bus halfway across the country - it just happens to be a minibus or share taxis filled entirely with local people and driven by a chap down the road who also runs the local shop.

A4 #pttravel Some like to argue you aren’t being green when you travel & they’re right, but the planes & trains are going whether I’m on them or not & I’m being more green using them than driving myself. I try to use public transportation traveling & refrain from rental cars.
