Q5 Would it affect your decision to book a trip if you found out somewhere was not sustainable or was damaging the environment and why?

A5 I try to support best environmental practices and make a point not to visit strip mines. #PTtravel

A5 If somewhere was particularly bad that might have a bearing but the trouble is understanding the reality from the marketing. Probably one area where reviews can make a difference. #PTTravel

A5 #pttravel Hmm! A knotty one. Do you say 'I'm not coming to your shizy country unless you get eco-friendly' ... or, do you go anyway, so that the money you bring in may help them to do it?

A5 I'm conflicted. I want to think I'm doing as much as I can but some places are not invested in sustainability. For work, I'd really struggle and actually for leisure, I would still visit.
I think you need to work out your own boundary

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A5. I wouldn’t travel to resorts or take cruises whether they claimed to be eco-friendly or not, and I’m not sure it would be fair to boycott a country because of policy or business practices. I just try to be as cognisant and responsible as I can be. #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A5. This bothers me, given a large part of my work has been facilitating people visiting remote areas, or places with a particularly sensitive environment. I feel quite conflicted, I wouldn't have some of the opportunities I've had if other people couldn't visit there #PTTravel
