I love visiting churches - the architecture is always beautiful and the history is often interesting to explore! Some of my recent favourites from my year abroad include St Sophia’s Kiev, Monastery in Huesca, Zaragoza cathedral and Vannes cathedral #PTTravel

@kate_frankie I do so. They are like museums. We learn about art and history in them.
I've founded really curious the Mosque, in Córdoba. A cathedral-mosque in the same place.
I also 💓 remote monasteries. I find them fascinating. #PTTravel #Yuso #LaRioja

A1: Yes, I am religious and was brought up in a religious lifestyle. My wife is the local pastor of a community church close to Southampton, UK. It was not always that way. We were both teachers. I became a travel writer and she a member of the clergy. #pttravel

A3 Here’s a few favourite religious places I’ve been to: Vilnius, Bratislava, Whitby and Florence. I find graveyards fascinating. #pttravel
A2 The most prominent religious places I've been to are Notre Dame an Cologne Cathedrals and Shwedagon Pagoda in Burma. Now that I think of it, there are also Maryland and Washington Cathedrals and shrines. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @Txiki_Tales #pttravel I like the fact that they aren't over-decorated with 'artefacts'. Just the people and God. (I once spent a very entertaining afternoon talking with the Imam at Hala Sultan Tekke, in Cyprus)
So many fun things to do #Bern in #Switzerland. https://t.co/Clhm2rA8Q5 And a great spot to use as a base for day trips! #PTTravel
replying to @adventuresandem @adventuresandem I love how different they look with spires or domes and towers. I also love hearing the call to prayer or church bells ringing. It gives a real feel of part of a culture #PTTravel
replying to @Txiki_Tales @Txiki_Tales @Travel_Session I was in Cologne three days before Xmas one year & went in the cathedral. I just sat there in the quiet thinking how amazing it would be to come back for the Xmas service, but I needed to go home. #pttravel

replying to @Travel_Session @Travel_Session They are gigantic! I love the space and silence. There's almost a stillness sometimes. I guess that's why some people visit. Sense of peace #PTTravel

Church of St John the Baptist in Valletta, Malta. Way too much bling. Much prefer the simpler interiors - no distractions during time with God #pttravel
Incidentally I’ll be missing #pttravel next week due to a religious experience of sorts. Liverpool v Athletic Club doesn’t happen very often!
replying to @Morology @Morology Spiritual places in Asia are great and quite varied. Do they have temples there? #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @galiciaoriginl #pttravel The Hotel Santa Maria de El Paular Hotel, in Rascafria, Spain is in part of a monastery. There are still monks there; only a handful, inhabiting only a small portion. But, they're only to pleased to show you around the 'holy part'.
A4 #pttravel I like to go inside then straight to the top as I did with Mathias Church in Budapest. It was a workout to the top of the steeple but worth it.
