A4 Follow the local rules and customs for visiting churches. Being raised as I was in a Protestant church, it took a bit of getting used to that photos were allowed and encouraged in cathedrals. #PTTravel

A4 #PTTravel Best to time your visit for when there isn;t an organised service going on. Be discreet with your camera ... and DO NOT photograph people at their devotions!

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie The Knights Templar were responsible for all the bling. Each group had their side chapel and tried to outdo each other with decoration. Hence the whole place is covered in gold and jewels and original art. #pttravel

A4 I always try to be very respectful and abide by rules. Cover up shoulders and knees, no photos if there are signs asking you not to and I do stay quiet for the people who are there for worship.
Other tips - find out in advance about tickets & go early!

A5 I once felt that I had a type of “calling” to help someone who was vulnerable while working in the US many years ago. Too deep to go in to but it did challenge my beliefs. I’ve not had anything similar since! #PTTravel

A5 I've definitely felt a sense of something in some churches/temples/mosques. The music or singing can absolutely hit a chord with me. I can be equally amazed in an almost spiritual way at how wonderful the natural world is on my travels. There's nothing like it
