replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Hi folks. Joining #PTTravel from North Yorkshire after a stroll around Harrogate and Wetherby. Can you spot the flying or at least leaping fish?

I've been out and about in Newcastle-upon-Tyne for the markets earlier. A bit damp but nice to walk around

Hello from Oregon. I took some video of this little guy who stood there & put on a show for me. #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel I'm good! Back in Amesbury after a couple of days near Eastbourne, and have enough stuff amassed to keep the blog going for a while.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Hello! I’ve just gone in and excited to take part in #pttravel chat again 😊

Q1 What kind of birds or other species that can fly have you seen on your travels? Tell us any stories

A1 #pttravel I don’t have a lot of bird pictures, although I found a few things such as this African Fish Eagle I saw looking at the hippos in South Africa.

replying to @aok_NW @aok_NW Such a lovely sound. I have woken up a few times over the years to the sound of lots of birds. Its just the smell of a lot of birds that isn't great 😆 #PTTravel

A1 I do like the challenge of trying to capture butterflies - not the easiest as they’re always on the move. #pttravel

replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith Good to hear! I really do need to write again. I've had a very long time off #PTTravel

A1 it was resting a couple months ago, but I'll attest this cicada could fly -- although, not for long. #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1 I loved seeing Albatross in NZ, Turns in Antarctica, and I have to give penguins an honourable mention naturally! #pttravel 🐧

A1 #PTTravel Australian bustards; apparently very rare. We thought they were emus, till a couple took flight. Not very good picture; the guide was braking frantically. I think he'd be in trouble if he hit one!

#PTTravel These birds live permanently in my backyard in #Florida, but we also have real egrets and sandhill cranes.

replying to @Txiki_Tales @Txiki_Tales I keep seeing butterflies at the moment. Small white/cream ones. I've seen some beauties on my travels. Those photos are stunning. Where did you see the blue one? #PTTravel

Great city to visit! RT @TravelAtWill: Copenhagen was a great spot to visit ! https://t.co/bZ7W5VhT0y So much to see and do in this water city. #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A bit of a cheat as that was in Nuremberg Zoo - in the tropical house! #PTTravel

replying to @findinganeish @findinganeish I knew you would have some amazing photos. I do like watching and listening to birds. There's such a variety #PTTravel

replying to @RooLovesTravel @RooLovesTravel @kate_frankie #pttravel Love penguins, but I think I've overexposed my penguin pix. and should maybe give them a rest.

replying to @RooLovesTravel @RooLovesTravel Can any penguins fly? Even a small amount to get out of danger? I feel like I heard they can propel themselves up out of the water but maybe that's more of a swim jump than fly #PTTravel

New Zealand is full of unique wildlife encounters like this gannet colony #PTTravel A1

replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith Oh wow. I've never seen them. Must have been quite a sighting and especially to see them fly too #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie They can’t, I was absolutely cheating 😂 #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @RooLovesTravel #pttravel Have you seen footage of them underwater on TV? They look as if they're flying!

A1 We watched these Jabiru in the Pantanal for about an hour as the adults were teaching the baby to fly #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @Txiki_Tales I've walked through a few of those places that butterflies and moths can freely fly. I saw a lot of people retreat but it doesn't bother me #PTTravel
