replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith @kate_frankie @RooLovesTravel my understanding is, biologically, the major difference between flying and swimming is simply the medium you're doing it in ... #pttravel (with the side effects of how that medium itself operates).
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1: Me and my husband are keen bird observers, also when travelling. The most fascinating so far has been a Tui in Queenstown, NZ. We wondered who's singing so beautifully and noticed him in the middle green. #PTTravel
RT @NomadKeith: @kate_frankie @RooLovesTravel #pttravel Have you seen footage of them underwater on TV? They look as if they're flying!

A2 #pttravel On July 4 a few years ago, I found a Bald Eagle in the tree overlooking the city park. We see them in places today you wouldn’t have a few years ago.
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith No, I hadn't. That's really interesting. Would they home/nest (or whatever the term is) in the UK? #PTTravel
A2 These cardinals were only a few days away from flying away from their nest on our patio three years ago. #PTTravel

Q3 Have you ever had any unexpected or bad experiences with a creature that flies and why?
replying to @kate_frankie
@kate_frankie #pttravel A3: a ... goose, or turkey, or some big creature of that ilk once tried to attack me in the middle of Australia Zoo.
I avoid swans. Vicious bastards.

A1 Seeing a beautiful big albatross flying beside our ship in the Drake passage was a great moment. I do have a photo somewhere!
I also have a vivid memory of condors circling in Peru. It was the Colca Canyon and it was clear and sunny. They were effortless
