replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith @kate_frankie Not sure how much I’ll have for this subject. 😉 #pttravel
Welcome to #PTTravel Chat everyone.
How are you and where are you joining us from today?
replying to @Txiki_Tales @Txiki_Tales @kate_frankie #pttravel I wish I had some photos of my Grand-dad's Clydesdales,

I am at home and have had a two week break from work. Mainly spent with new baby nephew who can now grab hair.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Hi everyone on #pttravel - had a pleasant walk around Knaresborough & Harrogate today. Usual queues at Betty’s - never been and to be honest, never understood all the hype.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel I'm in Amesbury; counting the days till our sortie to North Wales.

replying to @Txiki_Tales @Txiki_Tales Looks lovely. I do like Bettys but I wouldn't be upset if I couldn't get in. I need to stop eating cake tbh #PTTravel

Q1 Which big land animals would you like to see on a trip that you haven't seen in real life and why?
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @Txiki_Tales #pttravel My mother once said that Bateman ought to do a cartoon about me: 'The man who went into Betty's and asked for coffee'! 😃

RT @Txiki_Tales: A1 Bears. Don’t know why? It’s just the first one that came into my head! #PTTravel https://t.co/ZNkU8BGzXB
A1 #PTTravel When I was in Africa, the only big animal that eluded us was the lion. We got into Kruger early enough, but it warmed up too early & they went into the bush. The only thing I got were pictures of their tracks.
A1 #PTTravel Bears! We missed out on our Canada/Alaska cruise. And, maybe one day, Komodo Dragons.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Good evening from the Lake District. Spent the morning pottering around in Keswick which is packed full for #keswickmountainfestival, then took a drive over to beautiful Buttermere for the afternoon #PTTravel

A1 I'd love to see a polar bear in the wild. Might not have a lot of time to do that now
replying to @Txiki_Tales @Txiki_Tales I think bears of all kinds would be really fun as long as it wasn't face to face. Wouldn't want to accidentally end up in front of one 😳 #PTTravel

replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith I’ve seen Grizzly Bears twice, both at @GlacierNPS. I never got a picture because I was on the road & those things can run very fast. #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie I did try and climb in to the bear pit at Chester Zoo when I was about 3. Never a good idea. 😳#pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @Txiki_Tales #pttravel Always remember: You can't run faster than a bear. But, as long as you run faster than the person next to you .... 🤣
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1. I would very much like to see a polar bear. I'd love to get up to Svalbard on a sailing voyage, or into the Northwest Passage across Arctic Canada #PTTravel
replying to @aok_NW @aok_NW We saw a few in the Serengeti NP. Even caught a male roaring which goes straight through you. Glad we were in a jeep because they have some real power! #PTTravel
replying to @RelBackpacker @RelBackpacker I saw one up close in Africa which was incredible. They are huge but we were told they can move too #PTTravel
A2 #PTTravel There’s the local elk herd. They were seen down at Cannon Beach Friday. I took this one of bighorn sheep at @MountRushmoreNM. I was surprised how close I could get. I also have pics of bison @YellowstoneNPS, but couldn’t find the pictures.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1. I’d love to one day see (and photograph) bison at Grand Teton National Park. #PTTravel
A2 #pttravel I tried to find some pictures of draught horses. Couldn't put my hand on them, so this will have to do
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith Komodo dragons would be very cool. I don't think I'd go out of my way but if I was on a trip and could see them, I'd do a half day/day trip #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie I would like to go back to Africa just because that’s the one big animal I haven’t seen. Maybe someday. #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2. Red deer are as big as you’re going to get in Scotland. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @NomadKeith I’ve seen a few big lizards, particularly in Asia, but nothing as large as a Komodo Dragon. #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 American bison in @CusterStatePark @southdakota #travel #funness #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2. The most impressive round my way are the stags, which are starting to prepare for the rut over the next few weeks. We'll hear them bellowing from the hills + they gather in certain spots for the evening, just by the edge of the road, and you can smell them. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel I don't think anyone stays very long on Komodo (except maybe the Komodoese!) I think day trips from nearby resort islands are the norm.
