replying to @findinganeish @findinganeish Can we get context?! Kangaroos are just wrong. What is it? A giant, mutated rabbit?! I hope it wasn't too bad. Vicious creatures #PTTravel

Q5 Which country or region would you recommend to other travellers who would like to experience big land animals in their natural habitats?

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1: lion, cheetah, elephant, rhino. basically any African animal on a safari. Hopefully in a couple years if covid calms down #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie We were just feeding some on the outskirts of a campsite and they got a bit frisky. She was OK, just a few scratches and a newfound respect for wild animals. #PTTravel

A5 #PTTravel Go to Africa. Aside from lions, I saw pretty much every big animal there is native to that part of the world.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie I’m not sure. I’d have probably guessed wildebeest or caribou, but it might well be buffalo. #PTTravel

A5 #pttravel From personal experience, I'd say Kenya. Australia is pretty good, but you'd have to range far and wide to see stuff in the wild. But, most major cities have a 'reserve' within a bus ride, where they keep animals in something like their natural environment.

A3 I got chased by sheep as a 2/3 year old on holiday camping. Apparently terrified for a while. I also came up close with a big kangaroo which was not quite the Skippy encounter I thought it would be!

Q6 Any tips or advice for being on trips where you could have an unexpected encounter with a big land animal?

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A5. I’d love to do some exploring in Canada, looking for moose, elk, bison and buffalo. I’d also love to see a wild ibex in the Swiss Alps. #PTTravel

A6 #PTTravel Stay in your vehicle & just because they show no fear, don’t assume they aren’t dangerous. That’s been a problem with the elk. They have no fear of people & people think they can walk up & take a close up pic. If they have calves, they can send you flying.
