replying to @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie #pttravel scarily I was looking at that post yesterday and noticed I wrote about the best ice-cream I'd ever had.

I have no memory of eating that.

Probably I need to revisit to see if the place is still there! :p

A1 I think of places that are not plastered all over IG and on blog lists of must see travel 😋😆
Hidden gems is definitely a travel clique but those places are great to find and often have less people too

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel a3: hmmm .... I'm thinking about this .... I don't know?

Like - I'm a really 'bad' travel blogger in the sense that I don't look for or pay attention to them? I go to places for a reason, and anything I do there that isn't why I go there, I don't really ... remember?

A3 My favourite hidden gem in Spain is Avilés in Asturias. It’s home to just 80,000 (similar to Burnley) and hosts one of the maddest festivals I’ve ever witnessed. #PTTravel

replying to @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie #pttravel well no, not 'remember' exactly, more, 'don't get excited by'.

That's not saying I don't enjoy them, of course I do, more that they're just always 'nice things' rather than 'memorable' ones. I don't 'rank' them, I guess.

It's hard to explain, maybe!

A2 I would say the whole of the North East of England is a bit of a hidden gem, bar Newcastle/major cities.
Druridge Bay is stunning, seven miles long and has very few people on it. I spent my birthday morning there in August. Really great

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel short answer: yes.

long answer: I talk about places I feel confident about, with my own experiences coupled with additional research. I choose them based on a combo of my own feelings, what I think ppl would be interested in, & what would be easiest to do.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel A4: not necessarily. Some are, because they're a long or expensive or inrefquent journeys, but some could be as easy to find as taking the second left from the high street instead of the third left.
