replying to @aok_NW @aok_NW Kotor and Montenegro in general would be on my list of less known places that are fantastic. I loved my trip there.
Slovenia was also full of great places and sights. I climbed Triglav and spent time in the countryside which is slightly more off the beaten track #PTTravel

A4 #PTTravel Not really ... ask at hotel reception, or a taxi driver (that's how we found the Bird Garden in Agadir). Better still, set aside a day for just 'parping about' aimlessly. You'd be surprised what you stumble across.

A4 Despite the jokes about Ryanair destinations, it does make you look at the map and research lesser known places. My first trip to Bremen was because of a cheap flight - it became my favourite German city. #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel A4 "off the beaten track" is one of my strongest niches, yet the phrase itself is subjective. WHat's off 'my' beaten track might not be off yours.

There are locals everywhere for whom it's not to them.

A4 No. But my gem could be your coal? I love just exploring where people actually live and looking at different types of housing. So to me seeing houses and buildings and streets are my hidden gem! #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel In Crete, they say the further you get from the coast, the better (and often, less expensive) the food is.
That establishment I pictured offered us 'sautéed aborigines' ... I didn't try any, though!

replying to @bigfatheadz @bigfatheadz I mentioned something similar yesterday to my American friend. Like, there's a passion outside the UK for old-fashioned industrial-era British housing, and they go to places like Saltaire to see it.

And I'm like, 'that's almost every street in the East Midlands'. #pttravel

A5 with all the kerfuffle around travel and countries not wanting us 😄 I have booked a week in Paphos in a resort in Feb which is a very un me trip and so now I am looking for me type things to do (i.e not just eat in the hotel and sit on the beach) #PTTravel

A5 I always like discovering ‘neighbourhood’ bars and spending time in the places frequented by people who actually live there rather than tourists. It’s led to some pretty wild nights…and some great, if rather temporary, friendships. #pttravel

replying to @Morology @Morology I was told in San Diego to avoid it and that it was quite edgy. That only made me more curious. I liked it when I was there. Just a day trip but not many tourists #PTTravel
