A1 #PTTravel English Lake District, without a doubt! Grew up there, and spent quite a few weekends there when I lived in Yorkshire

A1: The Cotswolds and South Downs are the nearest hills to me. I have been to both but not enough times. Note to self: Must visit more often and not just drive through. #pttravel

A1 #PTTravel The Willamette Valley is between the Coast Range to the West & Cascade Mountains part of the Pacific Ring of Fire to the East. The Coast Range doesn’t have anything more than 2000 ft in elevation, The Cascades have such peaks as Mt. Rainier, Hood, Shasta & St Helens

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1. From my door I can just see the top of Lochnagar peeking over the top of the hills, but we're actually closer as the crow flies to Mount Keen, the easternmost of the Munros at the edge of the Cairngorms National Park #PTTravel

A1 The Pennines are the closest to me I think. There are various smaller hills and peaks but that range is the most well known I think. Further afield is Scarfell Pike, Snowdon in Wales or Ben Nevis in Scotland.
Some hills have great pubs

https://t.co/DZ9Q3sQIp8 A1 The closest mountains are the Appalachians topped by the Blue Ridge Parkway, and we've been there a few times. #PTTravel

replying to @vickyinglis13 @kate_frankie A1. But the National Park takes it's name from Cairn Gorm, meaning the blue mountain in Gaelic. But the Gaelic name of the Cairngorms is Am Monadh Ruadh, the red mountains, named for the pink granite rock. #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #Pttravel a1 my profile pic is taken in the Peak District, which I used to live within walking distance of. Now? I'm in Glasgow and thus close to all manner of Scottish mountains, Highland, Lowland, and Island.
