@kate_frankie #pttravel a4 uhm. Mount Nyiragongo would be cool. What's not to love about an active volcano in a marginal warzone?
Weirdly, I've never submitted Ben Nevis.

A3 I used to do much more climbing and hiking when I was in my 20s. In cold, hot, wet or dry weather. Europe, Asia, Latin America and New Zealand. Got some amazing views and memories
RT @ASolastie: @kate_frankie A2: Is Kilimanjaro a mountain range? I have hiked there. #PTTravel
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith @kate_frankie I'm now wondering if I was higher in Norway, but if I was it was because the carpark was around the same altitude as the top of Ben Nevis, so it felt like a gentle stroll up rather than a strenuous hike #PTTravel
replying to @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie [I will concede one of those two will be easier than the other!] #pttravel
A4 #PTTravel Just to say I'd done it ... the Vaalsberg, the highest 'mountain' in the Netherlands.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4: Mt Kenya next summer, if possible and because I love Africa. My plan is including Mt Kenya, Amboseli, Lake Naivasha. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie The Appalachian Trail runs from Maine to Georgia. Without looking it up, I think that's more than 1,000 miles. If not, I'm sure it feels like it should be. #PTTravel

A4 I want to do Kilimanjaro. The idea was to do it before 40. I'm now 36 and don't know when that happened 😆
Maybe that should be my next challenge?
RT @aok_NW: A3 #PTTravel The Julien Alps of Slovenia were memorable https://t.co/6S78loXLqo
RT @DawnCorleone: @kate_frankie A3. Beautiful Scotland. #pttravel https://t.co/qJL5POhKDt
RT @NomadKeith: A3 #PTTravel Mount Osorno, in Chile, I think it's best admired from afar, for its symmetry. https://t.co/nqGRXKkhPo
replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie I really have to do Ben Nevis by the CMD arete sometime. I've only ever done the tourist path #PTTravel
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith Stunning! I do appreciate the symmetry too #PTTravel
RT @vickyinglis13: @kate_frankie A2. But I did get a glimpse of Mount Français, the highest peak on the Antarctic peninsula at 2760 metres,…
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4. I’ve always wanted to walk down Banff Avenue in the shadow of Cascade Mountain. I’d so some hiking as well, of course. #PTTravel
replying to @vickyinglis13 @vickyinglis13 @kate_frankie How much more difficult is it? #pttravel
replying to @vickyinglis13 @vickyinglis13 @kate_frankie #pttravel Can be deceptive, can't it? In Austria, I did most of the work by cable car, and just had a gentle stroll around a corrie that was higher than anything in Britain.
replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot I need to find my photos from climbing Triglav. Also, organising photos needs to go on my list! #PTTravel
RT @aok_NW: A3 #PTTravel Of course if you want mountains there’s always Switzerland https://t.co/YVGHfor22M
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4. In Scotland, it would be Suilven. It's just a stunning looking hill + the views across the landscape are incredible. #PTTravel
replying to @vickyinglis13 @vickyinglis13 Autumn must looks so beautiful. Please post photos! I love seeing them #PTTravel
RT @aok_NW: @kate_frankie You will have a similar view with Seattle & Mt Rainier. #pttravel

Q5 What kind of travel gear do you recommend for mountain/hill exploring?
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie All my pics are on my laptop. And are organised. I'm just on a train. Lol. #pttravel

RT @JKatzaman: A4 Hiking or climbing isn't going to happen unless it's from the driver or passenger seat of a car. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @RTWBarefoot Likewise. I should have done it during Covid lockdowns when we couldn’t travel. #pttravel

@kate_frankie #pttravel a5 oooh, good question.
Chocolate / energy food.

replying to @JKatzaman @JKatzaman Viewing mountains and hills can be great on trips too. I don't think I would be up for some of the climbing where you need equipment. I'd rather just enjoy a great view or use a cable car #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A3. They don’t come much more memorable than Grindelwald. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie I wanted to climb Killi before 50. Am 15 years too late but I would still like to attempt it… I think! #pttravel
A5 #PTTravel Around here, you’re supposed to carry either a phone or a beacon, so I recommend that. I’d also carry a map, have good hiking shoes, know what the weather is going to do. In the 1980s, a high school class was killed in a blizzard on Mt Hood, due to poor planning.

replying to @JKatzaman @JKatzaman That's a very long trail. I'd heard before and read some blog posts about doing sections of it #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel a5 oh, a map. And the ability to read it. .... !!!
A5 #PTTravel Depends on where you're walking, also on what time of year. 'Expect the best, but prepare for the worst' is the best catch-all advice I can give here.
