replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel a4 uhm. Mount Nyiragongo would be cool. What's not to love about an active volcano in a marginal warzone?

Weirdly, I've never submitted Ben Nevis.

A3 I used to do much more climbing and hiking when I was in my 20s. In cold, hot, wet or dry weather. Europe, Asia, Latin America and New Zealand. Got some amazing views and memories

replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith @kate_frankie I'm now wondering if I was higher in Norway, but if I was it was because the carpark was around the same altitude as the top of Ben Nevis, so it felt like a gentle stroll up rather than a strenuous hike #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4: Mt Kenya next summer, if possible and because I love Africa. My plan is including Mt Kenya, Amboseli, Lake Naivasha. #PTTravel

A4 I want to do Kilimanjaro. The idea was to do it before 40. I'm now 36 and don't know when that happened 😆
Maybe that should be my next challenge?

replying to @vickyinglis13 @vickyinglis13 @kate_frankie #pttravel Can be deceptive, can't it? In Austria, I did most of the work by cable car, and just had a gentle stroll around a corrie that was higher than anything in Britain.

A5 #PTTravel Around here, you’re supposed to carry either a phone or a beacon, so I recommend that. I’d also carry a map, have good hiking shoes, know what the weather is going to do. In the 1980s, a high school class was killed in a blizzard on Mt Hood, due to poor planning.
