replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Belgium really surprised me how much I liked it. I spent a wee bit of time in Ostend, which is pretty much the Southampton of Belgium. Ships arrive + depart, most people just pass through. #PTTravel
A5 Almost anywhere west or north of here -- near Baltimore -- would be good to take in fall colors. One such day trip is pending. #PTTravel

A5 #PTTravel I would continue to focus on places heavily traveled in the high season. I’d probably would go to places closer to the equator that are hot & busy in the summer, but slow down this time of year. I’d like to go back & see Southern Italy now.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie I read the Pandemic Century last winter, very interesting. I'm reading Invisible Women by Caroline Criado-Perez, definitely recommended, and just finished the audio book of Girl, Woman, Other by Bernadine Everisto #PTTravel
replying to @JKatzaman @JKatzaman The USA is so huge. I didn't truly appreciate how much there is to see until I did a trip in California. I could do 5 trips to that state and still have a must see/do list #PTTravel

replying to @vickyinglis13 @kate_frankie Next up is the biography of Shackleton by Ranulph Fiennes I got for my birthday and a book called River Kings about the Vikings by Cat Jarman. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @JKatzaman There’s still so much of the USA I have not seen. I’ve been thinking while we’re still working our way through the pandemic, I should focus on domestic travel next year. #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A5. I’d love to photograph Canberra in the autumn. This image from @visitcanberra should give you a good idea why. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A5 it is gorgeous here right now. In Northern @VisitVirginia I would love to spend the season following the peak foliage down the coast. Start in Canada, then Maine, Vermont, New York, and so on, down to n. Florida. Then spend a month on a #USGulfCoast beach. #travel #pttravel
replying to @vickyinglis13 @vickyinglis13 @kate_frankie I’ve read most of it, but I got distracted by another book before I could finish. Was really enjoying it, though. #PTTravel

@kate_frankie A5. Canada or Alaska. I read a phenomenal essay yesterday about watching polar bears on the North Slope of Alaska in Nat Geo. I've wanted to see them for so long, I think I love them more than penguins #PTTravel

A6 The best bet for autumn trips in the U.S. is to Google fall foliage peaks or something like that. Then you can surf the wave as the best colors roll from north to south. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Interesting choices, and a few I'll take as recommendations. I love seeing other people's bookshelves #PTTravel

A6 #PTTravel This is the time of year the weather is deteriorating quick. That said, we should have enough snow in the Cascades for skiing by Thanksgiving. It’s always a good time to visit the wineries of the Willamette Valley. If your into stormy seas, you could try the coast

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A6. I do love Perth at this time of year. #PTTravel
replying to @findinganeish @findinganeish @kate_frankie I loved it, but I know the places mentioned quite well now and a few of the people that feature too 😂 #PTTravel
replying to @vickyinglis13 @vickyinglis13 RBG is a heroine of mine so very much looking forward to that. I get a book subscription of less well known authors and a theme was refugees a few months back. A topic that is very important and interesting for me #amreading #PTTravel

A2: We did a road trip around southern Utah and Grand Canyon last year. It was perfect for those locations because the weather was cooler (cold, in fact, on some days) so the heat didn’t affect our hikes. There also tend to be less crowds because kids are in school. #PTTravel
replying to @findinganeish @kate_frankie A6. Alternately, there’s Loch Earn, Loch Tay and Crianlarich, where I spent autumn last year. #PTTravel

A4 Bundle up warm and head outdoors! There is nothing like Mother Nature when its autumn. When the light goes, back indoors for warm drinks, stews and snuggling up to watch movies, play games or read
