Q6 What advice would you give fellow travellers on visiting areas of conflict/occupation or sites of memorials?

A6 I wouldn't visit conflict zones unless I really have to (e.g., for work). For memorials: don't just walk past them. Take a minute to find out what it is about and why a memorial is there in the first place. I think this goes hand in hand with slow travel. #pttravel

Then, consider going on an organised group rather than alone.

#pttravel A6: Always be respectful to the sites, memorials and people you visit. Try to not let prejudice cloud your judgement - try to go in with an open mind. Take in as much of information as possible and reflect after your visit
