New Year 2022
PTTravel
A2 #pttravel I was thinking Madeira ... and we're waiting till we can get to Borneo. But, we shan't book anything till there's a good chance it will happen. Could be Variant Pi is just around the corner. Hope not, though!
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith I love a trip to Whitby. Did you drive? Were they short weekend trips or did you go for longer? #PTTravel
replying to @findinganeish @kate_frankie A2. As for trips in mind I have too many to feasibly fit into one year. I can’t decide whether to resurrect cancelled 2020 trips to Gibraltar, Bucharest and Vienna or look further afield to America or Australia. Or sod it all and just go back to Switzerland. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2. I'm here in #SouthGeorgia until the end of March, then back to the UK via the Falklands again. I've got no plans for later in the year other than a hiking trip in Scotland in May. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie The first one is from the castle "Trifels" in Annweiler (Germany) and the second one from a privately owned castle called "Madenburg" which has a great restaurant. Both are great for a one-day-trip. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @LABowlGame You had to show a negative test or show you were vaccinated with the booster, I had the latter. Masks were required even though a lot of people weren’t wearing them. OSU didn’t show up, but it was a great time in a great stadium. #pttravel
replying to @BPackersGuide @BPackersGuide @kate_frankie Yeah. As far as I can tell, that was the whole point of Brexit. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #PTTravel Q2: So far....nothing concrete planned. USA to see family at some point. It all depends .. 🙂🙂
replying to @BPackersGuide @BPackersGuide @findinganeish @kate_frankie They now issue blue ones! I think that mine ... red, but without the words 'European Union' might be a collectors' item in years to come! #pttravel
replying to @findinganeish @findinganeish Sounds like great UK trips. Did you take the train or different transport? I remember you tweeting about train trips #PTTravel
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith Agreed, though comparing optimistic 2020 to pessimistic 2021 I think I’d rather have trips that need cancelling than none planned at all. #PTTravel
A2 If there's a trip this year, planning will wait until closer to travel date. It's too fluid right now to think of anything concrete. #PTTravel
replying to @vickyinglis13 @vickyinglis13 Really good ones in the UK. Some of my favourites. Epic adventures over there now too #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie For sure! I plan on going there more frequently so I can explore more of the areas I haven't yet. Such a big and diverse country. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel We drove ... only spent 3 days there, but our daughter bought a place in Ruswarp, and we will surely visit many more times.
replying to @Travel_Session @Travel_Session South Carolina is a place I've heard people mention but never really thought of going. Was it good to visit? #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Yeah, I got a cheap ticket to York in the LNER sale and travelled the south coast with Southern after flying down to Gatwick. Really made me appreciate ScotRail, haha! #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @vickyinglis13 Maybe I should put some of them on my list of "todos before I leave" 🤔 #PTTravel
A2 More time in Mexico. Dtr turns 21 this yr and wants to go to Niagara Falls so will spend some time there and NY. Otherwise more domestic travel this yr. #PTTravel
#PTTravel Chat
Q3 Share photos of places you'd like to return to or dream trips you want to take in the future
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith @BPackersGuide @kate_frankie Will they send my red one back after renewal, do you know? I really don’t want to lose it, scuffed and crumpled though it is. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1: I visited on August in Riga, Latvia and on September I spent week hiking in St Moritz, Switzerland. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Q2: As always, wanderlusting about many places, but nothing concrete booked yet 😅. #PTTravel
replying to @findinganeish @findinganeish #pttravel We had so many disappointments in 2020 that we didn't want any more in 2021. Maybe we will have a try this year, depending on how we feel about it.
replying to @findinganeish @findinganeish @BPackersGuide @kate_frankie #pttravel Yes; they just chop the corners off.

A2 We have Majorca booked for June for two weeks. Family holiday. I can't wait! I'm going to try to book a Canada trip too maybe later in the year.
A couple of weekends away would be great too
RT @Travel_Session: A2- A return trip to #Jamaica is the biggest trip I have planned for 2022. For now.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A3. The Internet is very slow here so it might take a while to share pictures. This is one from my hike earlier and I'd love to come back here to #SouthGeorgia to see a winter here one day. #PTTravel
A3 Japan (North), the Rhine valley in Germany and almost "any" place close to the sea #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1: I did a London staycation, visited Santorini, and finished the year in Ghana (hello from Accra currently!) #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Def would like some more time in Canada but will likely wait until they no longer require testing beforehand. Just adds too much of an extra chunk for a short trip. #PTTravel
replying to @aok_NW @aok_NW @Amtrak Sounds great. I'd love to see/hear more. I actually really rate Amtrak. I think its a great service. Not always totally linked up so car hire is worth it but I had very good experiences #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie
@kate_frankie It's home for me, so it's always a good visit 😃
#PTTravel
A3 #pttravel Some trips I remember fondly include Africa which I’d like to see more of. Also Croatia I’d like to see again. Australia was fun & Vietnam I’d like to see again. I could go back for a couple of weeks & not see the same things twice.
RT @findinganeish: @kate_frankie A2. I don’t currently have any plans, or even leave booked. I need to renew my passport this month and the…

@kate_frankie #PTTravel chat A1. Started the year quietly, but spent a month in Brussels, moving back to Norway.
One summer visit to friends in Bergen.
In September things kicked off: Walked the Camino in Spain and spent the rest of the year in the Caribbean, Central and South America.

Madeira! I watched a couple of videos about it, and there is far more to see than we saw on an 8-hour cruise stop.
replying to @BPackersGuide @BPackersGuide Norway. Hoping to do a Scandinavian trip in 2023 #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A3. I’m dying to return to Canberra, but I’d like to visit in their autumn so I’ll probably have to leave that until 2023, so a longed for layover in Singapore will likely have to wait, too. Lake Geneva and New England would be a lovely consolation. #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2: I will travel to Baja California Sur for two weeks on Feb (not gonna stay in Cabos). I have dreamed of this for years. #PTtravel
replying to @findinganeish @findinganeish I completely agree with and support all of those trips! 😁 #PTTravel
replying to @vickyinglis13 @vickyinglis13 @kate_frankie Whereabouts are you looking to hike? #PTTravel
