I'm in North East England, near Durham and I've spent the day indoors doing chores. I'm feeling like I'm slowly getting back into a routine after a lovely break
Hello from Oregon. It’s a nice morning today after a couple of days of some really nasty weather. #pttravel
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith We have had some mild days too. I'm planning a lunch time walk for tomorrow by the river. Have you been at Stonehenge or is it closed for visitors now? #PTTravel

Q1 How many nights do you need to feel like you've had a proper short break?

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel Stonehenge is fully open. I volunteer there, usually on a Wednesday.

A1 #pttravel It used to be I would go somewhere twice a year for about 3 or 4 nights. It’s been a long time since I’ve done anything less than about 5 nights. This last trip to SoCal was 5 nights.

A1 I'm trying to make the most of any breaks I get so even overnight, I try to stretch out to a full day either side. Two or three nights is a really good short break. That's what I'm trying to do a few times this year as well as one 2 week holiday

@kate_frankie ... one? two? #pttravel not many. Cos even one night away is a good night!
But probably two.
A1 #pttravel Two or three. I like flexibility ... option to stay a little longer is nice.
Have I ever mentioned there is a Stonehenge Memorial near me? It’s a memorial to salute World War One Veterans about 100 miles East of Portland. https://t.co/ZWemtstocD. #pttravel
A1: I love slow travelling, so probably around 3-4 nights in the same place for a short break #PTTravel

A1- I never feel as if I've spent enough time in any place I travel. "As many nights as I can get" is my ideal timeframe for a short trip.

Q2 Do you break up your year with short breaks & why/why not? Do you plan in advance or do them impromptu?
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1 I travel mostly short breaks. 2-3 nights #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1 I feel like 2 nights minimum? That gives 1 full day and 2 half days (with travel) to explore! #pttravel
A2: I used to go on a lot of short breaks before the pandemic. Now things have changed because of the high cost of the PCT tests, which unfortunately don't make it cost effective to take short trips anymore. #PTTravel
A2 #pttravel When I’ve done short trips, I have planned ahead. Usually one in the spring & another late summer or early fall.
A2 #pttravel Many of our short breaks come at the drop of a hat, usually after seeing a tasty deal in the paper.
replying to @kate_frankie
@kate_frankie #pttravel A2: nearly all of my trips are very short-planned.
I do take the occasional short break, but fewer than you might imagine, But now I'm up in Scotland I have plenty of scope for island-hopping for weekends.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A3 I used to try to do short breaks around bank holidays, especially taking a UK break in Summer. Then try to do longer holidays in winter to get away. But not done much the last year #pttravel
A1: Hello, everyone! I’d have to say at least three full nights and days which unfortunately never happens. Here’s hoping that the four-day work week picks up steam in America (never, ever going to happen, sadly). #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 How does one even plan, and be spontaneous with all restrictions and changes taking place all the time #PTTravel
replying to @Travel_Session @Travel_Session Absolutely the same here! I always want to stay longer. Europe offers many options for short breaks and no matter how many I do, there is still more #PTTravel

replying to @OanaRoua @OanaRoua A very good point. Its sad how the price varies so much and can add a lot on. I think UK short breaks will be on my list because of this but I will try Europe if I can #PTTravel
