replying to @Travel_Session A4- Even on short trips, I always free up time in my schedule to just walk around and take photos. No real destination in mind, just strolling to my own beat

A4: I usually take the free walking tour when I first get to a destination. It's very affordable and it gives you a clear idea about the history of the city, the layout, and you can get great local tips from the guide #PTTravel

A4 #pttravel There is nothing more free than to walk around the place you are in & see what they have to offer. In my area of the world you have state, county & city parks many are free. Not to mention nice views.

A4 #pttravel Walking ... especially if there's hills or countryside about.Look for good photo opps; maybe pick up the makings for a picnic at the supermarket, find somewhere nice to sit & eat it ... and people-watch!

A4 I do a lot of walking, go to a local museum if its affordable, cathedrals or churches are often free or a small donation, art galleries can have free days or deals, parks and any rivers/lakes/coast are great for a bit of nature too

A5: I would usually go for a short break anywhere within 2-3 hours of flying. For any other destination, I would take more time off. My most favourite short haul destination is Rome #PTTravel

A5 #PTTravel Amsterdam ... taken on a long weekend/blog trip. My mate Peter reckons a 'short trip' should only involve anywhere you can get there & back on one tank of petrol.

replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith There are some guesthouses and I think at least one of the pubs has rooms. It is lovely for a day trip but yes, different when most people have left. I remember a school trip there which was fun #PTTravel

replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith @kate_frankie Well, if we'd managed to get the car started, we'd've been amongst the last off. It was a long time ago so I don't recall how we fixed it but i think it involved getting a jump-start from another tourist. #pttravel
