History, culture and nature are big deciding factors for me. I do miss sun and long days in UK winter. Also those dreary, rainy days are tough #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel A5: the problem with Winter here isn't so much the weather, it's the lack of daylight. This kind of prevents too long a journey being taken - on the shortest day sunrise is about 8.45am and sunset is about 3.50pm.

A5 #pttravel It usually doesn’t snow at the lower elevations although snow is possible even on the coast. If you want winter sports, people go up in the Cascade Mountains.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie I've driven in snow, although not recommended. When I was 7, my pop decided to visit relatives in the middle of a storm. We rode home in a snow plow after having to abandon our car on a road drifted shut. Snow plow ride: another Bingo square. #PTTravel
