A3 #PTTravel We called at Tenerife on an odd, but inexpensive cruise. Half a Caribbean cruise/Altantic crossing/half a Mediterranean cruise. Deeply discounted, and we scored an upgrade!
Plan a Caribbean cruise .... https://t.co/N7FxsvjFbI and you will find so many fun things to see and do. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @HeyJonTheGo @KAYAK @TheFlightDeal @Drofcredit #pttravel We paid for all our excursions in Morocco with AVIOS.
A3: Back in the day, you could route to Asia through Europe with miles on USAirways for the same price as flying directly & even have a stopover. So in one trip, I went to Mallorca & Japan #PTTravel
replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie I'll be home soon enough. Are you going to come visit the Cairngorms for some hiking once I'm back? #PTTravel

A3 I've had some good deals on European city breaks to lesser known cities. Leuven was one and its a great place. Pretty sure it cost the same as a meal, drinks and taxi on a Saturday night

A4 #pttravel Check your favorite travel sites often. Rates change on the weekends & I’ve read you can save over 30 percent booking on Sunday.
A4 #PTTravel A lot depends on the day, the date and even the time you want to go. Most airline/trainline websites offer alternative times, dates and fares, so it pays to be flexible on timings, if you can.
replying to @HeyJonTheGo @HeyJonTheGo That's such a good deal. I love a stopover #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2. Nothing too out of the ordinary. Trainline for trains, Skyscanner for flights and 5pm for accommodation here in Scotland. #PTTravel
#PTTravel
A4 I set up alerts on 3rd party sites for flights and trains. They track the price over time. I also used incognito mode on searches in the past because it doesn't hike the price up when you search again

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @HeyJonTheGo #pttravel Singapore Airlines used to offer the Singapore Stopover. If I remember rightly, 2 nights HOTAC, a pass for the buses and vouchers for some attractions ???

Q5 Which places would you like travel deals for in the future? Try to help each other out!
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie It’s just a discount site for Scotland (mostly west coast). The theme is generally “faded glory”. #PTTravel

Always wanted to ask @RTWBarefoot - for your off the beaten track trips, are prices/deals better when you get to the country or ahead of time booked from home?

A5 Any deals on Japan, Canada or South Africa would be great.
I think flights might be cheaper during shoulder seasons but could be wrong. Hotels seem expensive but maybe there are good places I'm missing

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4. It really does pay to be organised and book in advance, annoyingly. And it’s just one of many reasons to avoid weekend travel. #PTTravel
A5 #pttravel Borneo ... we were going to go in 2020, but COVID put the mockers on that. Otherwise ... any where whale watching is possible. Antarctica, especially!
replying to @kate_frankie
@kate_frankie That requires me to pay attention to 'deals'. Remember, I book everything separately. And very rarely book through third parties; generally everything I do, I do directly.
But yeh, I find it useful to book things in-destination, not in UK. Because I can ask questions. #pttravel
