replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie The Sacré-Cœur and the Montmartre are one of my favourite places in Paris 🗼

Cathedrals are very special buildings.
Enjoyed to see and visit Sagrada Família in Barcelona, too.

A3 #PTTravel 'Cook's Cottage' in Fitzroy Gardens, Melbourne. Was shipped over brick by brick in the 1930s ... although Cook never actually lived there.; he'd already left home when his father built it. Although, no doubt, he did visit from time to time.

A3 Staying within England for this one: an Oast house in Kent, then (the home of Mr Darcy) Lyme House, the inside of the National Opera House (I adore theatres), & Norwich Cathedral when they had the helter skelter in! #PTTravel

A2 I love medieval, gothic and baroque styles. Give me gargoyles and arches, domes and spires. Losds of detail carved into stone. Stained glass windows. Art. Real craft and skill.

replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith #pttravel i went to an outdoor museum in northern ireland (Irish American Folk Musem, in Omagh), where they had, literally, imported a couple of buildings from the usa, brick by brick, and rebuilt them in the museum grounds, becuse they had specific relevance.

I am a fan of Roman architecture.

Loved to take lots of pictures of the colosseum in Rome.

The whole city has so many treasures to be discovered by foot! 🚶‍♀️📷 ⛲️

A4 #pttravel I’m finally going to see @GatewayArchNPS in St. Louis in May, I’m looking forward to. Also, Machu Picchu & the mosques along the Silk Road are on my hit list. Inside Notre Dame before the fire.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4 I would love to visit hill forts of Rajahstan, like the fort in Jaisalmer or the Amber fort in Jaipur. Maybe next year. A good reason to travel to India where I have not visited yet. #pttravel

A5 #pttravel I think government needs to be involved. They can do fundraisers online now. Visiting the Old North Church in Boston, they brought you in, gave a talk for a few minutes about it’s history, then asked for a donation for upkeep. They also had a gift shop.

replying to @Travel_Session A5- We lose so many historical buildings around the world through war. Even the US Capitol and White House 🇺🇸#WashingtonDC have been victims.

A5 #PTTravel Probably the best way is repurposing. A good example is the Roundhouse, in Vancouver. They've converted it into a shopping centre, but have still preserved the atmosphere, and devoted a small sector of it to its history
