Nature Reserves

A1 #pttravel Most of what I’ve seen was in Africa. It was interesting to see this nature reserve of hippos near Richards Bay, South Africa.

A1 For me, the Serengeti is hard to beat. I'm so glad I had a few days touring through there. So much to see and it was breathtaking 😍
A2 #pttravel The nearest reserve is the Jewell Elk Refuge about an hour away, but if you just wait around, the elk will come see you. These were all taken within a mile of where I live.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1. For me it’s Morton Lochs, my local. I found it (or it found me) when I needed nature the most. I’ve since started volunteering there and it’s been more valuable than ever in these Covid times. #PTTravel

It is actually trying to dig a bit deeper and remember smaller places or less well known if they aren't already NPs. I was lazy and went with Serengeti but there are others like areas of the ACT that I went to with locals and saw kangaroos and.
A2 #PTTravel A disused railway track near us has been designated a Butterfly Conservation Area. Lots of butterflies!
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2. It was heartbreaking to see Tentsmuir devastated by last year’s storms, but luckily it doesn’t appear to have affected the residents too much. #PTTravel
We had so much fun with wine tasting and a horse show ... https://t.co/YN8ssVr4mi on a visit to Casablanca in Chile. #PTTravel @TurisnetCL
replying to @JKatzaman @JKatzaman Here’s a robin chick I took in my garage. I wasn’t sure what was nesting there until I took this picture & found the mother outside having a fit I was looking at her chick. #pttravel
A4 #PTTravel Morialta, near Adelaide was always a favourite. We always go there when we visit ... but, I had to go back to 2002 to find a pic of the falls with any water in it.
(The only place I've seen a koala in the wild!!)
06:46 PM greetings from a 86°F Yaoundé, Cameroon evening and sorry for joining as late

A5 #pttravel An operating rest room is good. At Hluhluwe–Imfolozi Park in South Africa (pictured), we stopped in a rest room that had no running water. Thankfully, I had a Costco size pack of wipes to hand out to everyone. Kruger had places to stay & eat in the park.

The Waza National Park is a national park in the Northern part of Cameroon, back when I was 7 yrs old and got amazed seeing the animals I used to see in my books
