replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel They are attractive, aren't they?My grandchildren always used to drag me down to Butterfly World, in Roundhay Park, (Sadly, it's Tropical World now; they charge to get in ... and my grandchildren are grown up! )

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie I missed their departure, which was only a few days later. I thought something got them, but I Googled a saw, yep, they're out and about in 10 days or so. #PTTravel

A4 #PTTravel Morialta, near Adelaide was always a favourite. We always go there when we visit ... but, I had to go back to 2002 to find a pic of the falls with any water in it.

(The only place I've seen a koala in the wild!!)

replying to @findinganeish @findinganeish I always worry about how an area will survive. Nature finds a way. I love that trees spread seeds when they feel forest fires coming so that new life can emerge #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @findinganeish #pttravel Walking through a patch of rain foret in Queensland, a ranger asked us to guess how old it was. We were all woefully wrong. 'Thirty years ago, my Dad used to farm here. All this was paddock!'

A5 Any reserves I know of you can drive through. You just need to keep windows rolled up and not feed the animals, especially your arm. #PTTravel

A5 #pttravel An operating rest room is good. At Hluhluwe–Imfolozi Park in South Africa (pictured), we stopped in a rest room that had no running water. Thankfully, I had a Costco size pack of wipes to hand out to everyone. Kruger had places to stay & eat in the park.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @findinganeish #pttravel I wonder how long it would take for a jungle to re-establish once the slash-and-burn farmers have moved on. But, maybe the ground is so impoverished that they can't?

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4. There are so many, and it’s always amazing to me what wealth of wildlife can be found in even the most modest of reserves. #PTTravel

A6 Travelers can do their part by not making a mess of things, leaving them better than you found them. #PTTravel

aok_NW

A6 #pttravel Be respectful of the reserve. If you bring it in, take it out. Stay on roadways/walkways. Appreciate the wildlife & stay clear of them. If you really want to help, you could see if you could volunteer.
