A3 #pttravel Looking down at Seattle & Puget Sound from Columbia Center. If you don’t have to go up in the Space Needle, this is a cheaper, faster alternative.

A2 I think if its important, unrealistic to be able to get home, fun or a great deal, I think its definitely worth staying for the night.
You can support local businesses (accommodation, food etc) and explore a new or loved place

We loved this pub in Sandhead, near Stranraer. We were due to fly from West Freugh, but weather and an engine fault forced an overnight stay ... and, that evening, a classic car rally staged through.
Visit Coquimba in Chile. https://t.co/nwVJx5ihHT Head out to the Enchanted Valley for great wine tasting and fascinating petroglyphs too! #PTTravel @municoquimbo

A3 Durham and many places in NE England for weddings and the sort, Northumberland is great and easy to reach quickly, Edinburgh and many a spa break for the night over the years

replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith I'm not going to pretend I didn't have to look up that place. Looks great. I love places with character. I saw a classic car rally in Cumbria and one on Isle of Wight. Fun trips #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel It was a really great pub ... good, fresh food! We heard the Gaffer threatened to sack the Chef if he ever found anything besides ice cream in the freezer!
A4 #PTTravel I thought a lot about this question & I can’t think of anything. I think I’ve done all the overnight trips I’ve wanted to. This trip to Geneva was another overnight trip inside a larger trip.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel A4: that's a good question. I'm not actually sure. There's probably some interesting places it'd be cool to camp in/at/near overnight for full serene emptiness, but, hmmm ....
replying to @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie #pttravel [there's probably some nsfw answers i could give here ...]
A4 #PTTravel Blair Athol. We often overnighted there when I lived in Scotland ... great scenery, good walks ... if you're not in a hurry to be on your way.
#PTTravel
A4 Maybe Belfast. If I can't make it a longer trip, I would do one night.
Anywhere to meet up with friends.
I've done a few big birthdays, weddings, hen parties and other celebrations for the night.

A5 #pttravel Again, I can’t think of anything. I guess I’ve been lucky. My overnight trips have always went well.
A5 #PTTravel Place in Devon: I was roused at Silly o'clock by the most blood-curdling screech I ever heard.
I thought someone was being done serious damage, so jumped out of bed, grabbed something heavy, and dashed outside to confront ... a peacock!
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel A5: I've had bad situations in hostels and hotels where I've moved into a different accom after a night, but hmm. It's not something that happens often, partly because I'm bloodyminded and partly cos I rarely stay long anyway so it ultimately doesn't matter?
#PTTravel
A5 We had a pretty bad caravan experience in Tenby when I was a kid. My dad almost drove us home after one night.
I also had a night in a very creepy town in rural China when I was younger. Couldn't wait to move on after the one night (without electricity)
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith there's a pub-with-rooms in the Peak District that I think's really good and fab but where the tripadvisor reviews often mention this as a bad point. I've never really noticed them. #pttravel

Q6 What tips do you have for travellers who want to make the most of a one night stay?
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith I actually know someone who left early on a vacation because of noise from birds. I can't say I've ever had it bad before #PTTravel
A6 #pttravel I would say know what you want to see & find out what other things there are to see & do. Make the most of your limited time.
replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot #PTTravel I remember similar in the Peak District. Can't remember its name, but I think John Cleese must have modelled Basil Fawlty on the owner. Nevertheless, it was really comfortable, and served good food and beer.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel Birdsong, I rather like ... even at O God o'clock in the morning. But, the mating call of a peacock ... never again, I hope!

A6 #PTTravel Check all options ... trains, buses, etc. Price accommodation, and then decide how badly you want to do it, and does it justify the layout in money/time?

A6 Research what you can see/do and make the most of your time. Otherwise, just relax. Depends on what you want and why you're there.
I try to go early enough to explore a bit and then leave after enjoying the full morning there too
