Q2 How have you found local hidden gems when travelling?

a) guidebooks
b) local advice
c) completely by accident because I was passing and happened to be looking in the right direction at the time.

c) happens rather more often than you'd think. I blame ADHD.

A2 #pttravel I usually stumble over them, although I will plan them in trips. This cavern in SW Missouri was an unplanned stop. Missouri is the place to go if you like spelunking.

A2 #pttravel Local knowledge is good ... ask hotel concierges, barmen, shopkeepers, etc. I would say avoid tour guides ... but Samir, in Morocco, was an absolute fount of information.

A2 I like to just go exploring, turn down side streets, etc. Sometimes just panning around on Google Maps will show interesting finds, too #pttravel
