Making the most of every part-time travel day

replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith @JKatzaman Great response! I like guides like that #PTTravel
A2 Take trips day by day, managing time for each segment accordingly. Then it won't matter if it's a short or long trip. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1 Up early (with coffee to help), and having a good breakfast to get my energy together for the day ahead. I also like to know what I’m doing for the day so I have a rough plan #pttravel

Q3 Share photos of places you have visited, where you feel you got the most out of it (in whatever way you wanted to)

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Hello, joining tonight from the coast of South Aberdeenshire #PTTravel
replying to @RooLovesTravel @RooLovesTravel @kate_frankie #pttravel I often don't decide what I'm doing till I've seen the weather forecast.
A2 We’re more early starters than late finishers but even on short trips we like to walk at least 10 miles a day (with the obvious stops). We pay for it when we get back home! #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 All the more important on short trips! I know what attractions/activities are an absolute must for me while I’m there and work other attractions (nearby) and food stops around that. If I’ve seen the things I was desperate to see then anything else is a bonus! #pttravel
replying to @RooLovesTravel @RooLovesTravel Sounds perfect. I like that you said get my energy together. I feel like that makes a difference for me too #PTTravel
A good hike and lots of water adventure too .... https://t.co/BXwvjm4rDE when you visit Egmont on the Sunshine Coast in BC and explore the Skookumchuck Rapids. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1. Sunshine, clear skies, coffee and a good breakfast. #PTTravel
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith @kate_frankie Weather plays a part. I’d look ahead and pick the best days for outside activities if possible. Trickier if it’s something you have to book weeks ahead for!🙈 #pttravel

A2 Making the most of each travel day means trying to appreciate the small things. Blue sky thinking?

Fraser Island, Queensland. So much to see and do, even though we only did a day-trip there.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2. Proper planning and preparation etc etc. Knowing what you want to get from the day before you head out the door, opening times, food recommendations, possible walking routes. Then just wing it. #PTTravel
#PTTravel A3 Seeing all the main things I wanted to see, even if it means early starts and late arrivals back to my accommodation! #pttravel

Q4 Do you have a list of any kind (bucket list etc) that you use to see and do what you want in the next year, 5 years, 10 years? Why or why not?

A3 This was an impromptu stop in Pennsylvania and a chance to see wind turbines relatively up close. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4. Not really, as I've usually had seasonal jobs and just picked up opportunities around them. But there's a few things I'm hoping to do in the next 4-5 years that I've just started planning for. #PTTravel
A4 #PTTravel Costa Rica (booked!) and Borneo are immediate plans. Longer term, we're thinking African safari and Australia's Indian Pacific train.
A4 #pttravel I’m happy to report I’m putting my long awaited trip to Spain back together, taking place in October. I’ve said before Peru, the Silk Road, Egypt & Antarctica are all still on the list. We’ll see how much I can accomplish in my retirement.
A1:Early start, either with a run, gym session or healthy breakfast at a cool coffee shop! Sets you up nicely for the day ahead #PTTravel

A4 I want to finally take a drive through the middle and western United States where I'm the one calling the shots on the itinerary. #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4 I have a list with levels more in terms of expense ‘big’ trips vs smaller short-haul trips. There are certain places I would’ve said I wanted to see by now, but worldwide circumstances have not allowed, & finances. I’m impatient & would like to go EVERYWHERE-NOW! 🤣 #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie na. I have an anti-bucket list of things I'm unlikely to ever do. because life's too short and the world's too big, so we have to prioritise. #pttravel Also have a very short attention span so things I want to do now might be different in a week's time.
A2: It used to be seeing as much as humanly possible but now it's about quality rather than quantity and it's to have fairly relaxed days (by my standards) #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A3 #pttravel I’ve seen lots of cathedrals but walking on top of the Duomo in Milan was special. Museum and church interior included with the ticket. @kate_frankie
replying to @JKatzaman @JKatzaman We have some on the way to Druridge Bay in Northumberland (my favourite beach). You drive right by them. Great stop on your journey #PTTravel
