Q2 Would you downgrade your accommodation to save & spend more time on a trip & why/why not?

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel A2: ... that's kind of what I do by default? I try to get the cheapest accommodation I can bear (even *I* have limits!) because, like, it's just a bed at the end of the day. I'm not going to be spending any time *in* the room barring rest and sleep? So why pay more?

A2 #PTTravel I usually don’t spend a lot on accommodations to begin with because I figure about all I’m going to do there is sleep, so why buy a fancy hotel room. So the answer is yes, I’ll do this.

A2 Unless money is no object, accommodation choice is usually some sort of compromise. Again, I’ll have a rough idea of what I want to spend and see how far I can go with that. Sometimes room is more important, sometimes it’s location. #PTTravel

RT @JKatzaman: A2 I'd have a hard time downgrading. What class is below economy? #pttravel

A2 #pttravel Normally, I won't accept anything below 3-star Except when cruising, when I'll take the cheapest going. I just use the cabin for sleeping and changing clothes; it you pay extra for a window or porthole, you can usually see damn-all but open sea or dockside, anyway.
