replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A3. Aberdeen deserves another shoutout here. Their annual Nuart festival means that there are always new murals to be discovered - though the city’s regeneration means they don’t all last for long. #PTTravel
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith Bath is another city with interesting and sometimes hidden parts to explore #PTTravel

RT @aok_NW: A5 #pttravel. I try not to travel in the high season. That’s the best way to avoid heat & crowds.

I suspect my next Twitter Spaces chat in two weeks will talk about that in more detail!
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie It’s well worth a look. It has some stunning architecture, beautiful green spaces and nice bars and restaurants. Lots of wildlife for a big city, too. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel I've just been watching a documentary about the American Museum just outside Bath. I knew of it, but thought it was devoted mainly to WW2 artefacts. What an eye-opener; must visit soon!

Q6 What advice do you have for travellers wanting to explore more urban areas?
replying to @kate_frankie
@kate_frankie #pttravel it's easier than rural areas.
I'm very fond of HomeTown Travel, which is usually related; and it's easy and fun to explore your own homse areas.
A6 #pttravel Call in to the TIC and get a street plan. And, if you're not in an English speaking country. get someone at your accommodation to write down the name and address. Or, if they have such, pick up one of their business cards.
A6 Edgy areas can be some of the more interesting to explore. Plan, don’t look like a tourist and keep your wits about you. Most of the time you will be absolutely fine and enjoy a city experience that not too many others will have! #pttravel

A5 I'm not great with heat especially when I'm trying to sleep.
Crowds aren't the most fun and do slow things down. Get used to queues!
I generally avoid kids holidays and the hottest time of year.
If I have to travel, I stay out of the sun around midday & drink water
