replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel I am, as usual, in Amesbury. Pleasant day here; not too hot, not too cold.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Good evening from the east coast of Scotland. #PTTravel

Q1 How do you feel about travel since Covid-19 happened and have you been on a trip since?
Hello from Seaside, OR. The Hood to Coast race was held yesterday. Seaside was the race end. 200 mile race from Mt Hood to the coast. It’s said to be the largest relay in world, people come from all over thee we world. #pttravel

I'm hosting from North East England in the UK. I've got a few days off for birthday celebrations tomorrow and did a 10 mile training run for the half marathon in two weeks.

A1 #PTTravel Well. we've learnt not to take the fact we can go wherever we can afford at the drop of a hat for granted!. So far, we've managed a trip to Portugal, road trips to Yorkshire and Devon and a coach tour to North Wales.
replying to @aok_NW @aok_NW That looks incredible. Very cool race and I bet it attracts a lot of people #PTTravel

A1 #pttravel I have warmed up to it since returning to the road last December. I was nervous about that trip at first, but it all came back to me & now I’m pretty comfortable with the idea of doing some travel.
I have taken some trips. It's been a bit stressful at times, but worked out. #pttravel https://t.co/KXyzUoK7QH
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie This was the 40th anniversary of the race, very popular. #pttravel

Happy to be here again and thanks for having me

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1. I feel OK about Covid travel, to be honest. I’m still masking up and avoiding hostels, but it’s not put me off national or international travel. If anything, it’s the collapse of supply chains, cost of living crisis and threat of war that concerns me more. #PTTravel

A1 I feel glad to have borders open and to be able to travel without quarantine. It has been a hard period for both work and personal travel. I hadn't travelled for work since Feb 2020 until July this year. That made the job much harder
#PTTravel Chat
Q2 Do you have any trips planned for the rest of this year or for 2023? Why (and where to) or why not?

replying to @findinganeish @findinganeish @kate_frankie #pttravel 'Chaos' at airports and ferry ports have been the main offput for me. But, we don't hear so much about it now, so I hope all will be OK for our 'big trip' in November.
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith @kate_frankie Oh, yeah, I almost forgot about Brexit. Thanks for reminding me. #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1: I’m pretty chilled about it. Working in the NHS made me block alot of anxiety around it. Went to Egypt last Nov before leavin the NHS & Morocco in May #pttravel
A2 #pttravel I have reassembled my trip to Spain/Portugal for October. International flights have returned to @flypdx. I’m looking forward to it.
RT @findinganeish: @NomadKeith @kate_frankie Oh, yeah, I almost forgot about Brexit. Thanks for reminding me. #PTTravel
replying to @aok_NW @aok_NW I actually had more nerves than I thought for long haul and being in high population places. India still has thousands of cases per week so going back to masks, hand sanitiser, temp checks all the time was weird. Good that we have awareness now & can do it #PTTravel
A2 #PTTravel We have Costa Rica and Panama booked for November; and we're waiting to see what 2023 brings before we go firm on anything. Considerations are Borneo, Indian Pacific & New Zealand cruise or maybe Far East cruise.

Life goes on in the post-pandemic era we're now in and of course I have been on trips in Europe, always with the complicated new world requirements: proofs of vaccination, Covid19 tests, PCR or a lateral flow

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2: South Korea & Jamaica (family wedding). 2023 I have yet to think that far ahead with these two big trips #pttravel
replying to @findinganeish @findinganeish Very good points. I was looking at Latvia recently (£13 return flights) and my main concern was how far from conflict. What has it come to when that's the qu? Cost of living is making my budget tight too. I'm in a much better position than some families so grateful #PTTravel

replying to @findinganeish @findinganeish @kate_frankie #PTTravel We considered somewhere on Eurostar, but 'I'm not sitting for hours on a train' (My saying it's preferable for queuing for hours at the aiport fell on deaf ears!)
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith @findinganeish Where is it in November? I'm sure you've said but I've forgotten! #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2. September’s looking pretty busy with various Doors Open events around Scotland and a few days in Berlin and Leipzig. It’ll be strange seeing Germany’s attractions in darkness as the government tries to save power. #PTTravel

Got a little European trip planned for November. I'm excited to get out again. #pttravel https://t.co/6kQdJYvb68
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @5to9traveller #pttravel We loved the higgledy-piggledy chaos of the 'old' Cairo Museum. I fear that atmosphere will be lost in the 'new' one.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie I’m pretty privileged, too, but still trying to save money where I can. Flying basic Ryanair next month so will be the first time I’ve travelled without my telephoto lens since I bought it. Like Covid restrictions did, the war Ukraine’s making me think very short-term. #PTTravel
