Hello from Oregon where it was 30C on the beach yesterday. That’s unheard of on October 1. #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel a2: i tend to spend less on accommodation. Because all I need is a bed; I'm likely to be out-and-about so don't need fancy extras like a restaurant or gym etc. Even a private bathroom isn't necessary.

I splurge on beer. Apparently.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2: We splurge on food and drink for 1 meal of the day, but skip breakfast and self cater for other meals. Cafes, bars and restaurants, and people-watching are what we enjoy while travelling (and in life). so that's where our money goes! #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1. I tend to book over three months, using one wage for flights, one for accommodation and one for spending money. #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2. If I can take the budget option for travel + accommodation I will, then spend on a nice meal or experience. I made a vagabond trip to the Isle of Wight, walking the coast, swimming in the sea + wild camping, but eating in lovely restaurants with my savings #PTTravel

A3: I always get great deals to Italy. I went to Lake Como for a weekend for less than £100 (flights and 2 nights in an apartment with a beautiful view included). If you are flexible with dates, there always seem to be affordable flights to somewhere in Italy #PTTravel

A3 #pttravel Morocco! We scored a really sweet last-minute flight and hoteldeal, and paid for all our excursions with AVIOS

A2: I usually splurge on food. I am a big foodie and I love to try the local dishes. I would compromise on hotels, I am not fusses on where I sleep as long as there is a bed and a clean private bathroom. #PTTravel

A3 #pttravel Vietnam was full of great deals, after being told not to book at the Dubrovnik Hilton. I actually got a really good deal from them, I found another hotel deal at a hotel 20 minutes from Venice, I found a good hotel deal my first weekend in Turkey close to here.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2. I’m pretty frugal. I avoid taxis and restaurants and posh hotels, but will always stop for coffee and cake. #PTTravel
