Q1 Which landmarks come to mind that have been as good in real life on your travels and why?
A1 #pttravel One that exceeded my expectations was the Eiffel Tower. People said I didn’t need to do it, but I’m glad I did. I even saw Putin’s procession go by as he was also in town.

I'm in North East England and spent this morning walking around a place called Northumberlandia. Very cool sculpture

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie It's more ... I'm not a meterologist so I don't know the precise differences, but, it was effectively low cloud. It started raining while I was having juice-and-biscuits after the run finished #pttravel
replying to @aok_NW @aok_NW I've always loved Paris and really enjoy viewing the Eiffel Tower from different places in the city. I know its not everyone's cup of tea but I did think it was great #PTTravel
#pttravel A1: oh yeh. Grand Canyon? "It's just a big hole in the ground", well, yeh .......
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Actually if you ask the locals, they will tell you to go up in the Montparnasse Tower which is an unpopular building in the city because you get a great view of the city without seeing the building. They are right, I went up there too. #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @aok_NW it's an interesting place, especially to see Paris from. #pttravel Though I've not been up it for a decade or three.

replying to @RTWBarefoot #pttravel a2: does this count? Statue of the Duke of Wellington, complete with traffic cone. Definitely a famous landmark.
replying to @RTWBarefoot #pttravel Glasgow University's a bit of a landmark, cos it's quite impressive.
A2 #pttravel I’m not sure how famous they really are, but there is the 4.1 mile Astoria Megler Bridge that takes US Highway 101 to Washington. Also there’s Haystack Rock down the road in Cannon Beach.

replying to @Travel_Session
A2- #CrabIsland near 🇺🇸#Destin. An underwater sandbar where the water is about waist deep. You can only get there by boat.
#pttravel #travelingsession
A3 #pttravel Sydney was always a place I wanted to visit because I wanted to see both the Harbour Bridge and Opera House.

@kate_frankie #pttravel a3: uhm.
I don't know?
I don't tend to think about landmarks before I visit somewhere - I tend to notice them while I'm there. Obvs it might depend on your definition of a landmark?
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie You can whistle if you think I'm climbing up there! :p #pttravel
