replying to @RooLovesTravel @RooLovesTravel Happy Birthday! Glad you've had a good one. Cake? Fun stuff? What were the celebrations? #PTTravel

replying to @RooLovesTravel @RooLovesTravel I think that absolutely counts! Anything that's a comfort #PTTravel

replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith @ChinaMatt @OanaRoua That's so good. A good travel story if I've heard one #PTTravel
A3: Almost every time I travel I am out of my comfort zone because I hate flying. Being on a plane doesn't feel natural, but I still do it because I love to travel once I'm back on the ground. #PTTravel
A3 #PTTravel Being somewhere I am completely unfamiliar with & another language being spoken. Having to figure out how to go from one place to another & getting it wrong. That’s why I couldn’t do without my phone. It’s my navigator.
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A3. For me it’s more social than anything. I try to push myself to speak to people in tour groups and on long journeys, but I’m not always in the mood to make the effort. #PTTravel
A3 #PTTravel I really couldn't answer that one. I've been in a situation where I couldn't speak the language, and not many people spoke English, but I didn't really feel uncomfortable.
replying to @ChinaMatt @ChinaMatt @kate_frankie My outdoor space is so zenful. Well, when the leaf blowers are not going. They are 🤬🤬🤬 #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1: Connecting to Wifi can be homey I reckon. #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A2 Nope - gone through all my photos & can’t find anything. So instead here’s a photo of me being an idiot! Humour is something I can regularly enjoy! #pttravel
replying to @OanaRoua @OanaRoua That's tough to face for each overseas trip that you need/want a flight. How do you cope ok? Anything you do to keep fear manageable? Do you have a certain length you can do but longer is too much? #PTTravel

Q4 Share photos of places or activities during travel that got you out of your comfort zone
replying to @aok_NW @aok_NW Phones are such good travel companions. Translate apps have helped me too. I used to get lost much more in China with no Google maps or really English versions accessible. It is getting better #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A3 For me, I suffer with anxiety, so being out of my comfort zone is having no safety net. Trusting strangers with my safety (transport/tour guides etc). If the basics are there for me, I’m then generally fairly chilled about what I see and do 😅 #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie I’m not a cake-lover so I had a birthday vg cheesecake! Was yum! Saw friends, family, and the Cutty Sark! Lovely weekend, thank you! #pttravel
replying to @findinganeish @findinganeish It can be hard. I think I'm learning to manage my energy rather than my time and its helping. I'm more extroverted and like time with people but it can be a lot in your groups. How do you recharge? #PTTravel

This is one of the few pictures I took in this place. I just couldn't stay in there for more than a couple of minutes. I spent a while talking to the guide. He couldn't stay long, either, He lost relatives back then, and was visibly distressed.
replying to @OanaRoua @OanaRoua YES! I have a flight on Tuesday & am excited yet terrified! Hoping I won’t die so I can enjoy my holiday 😅 #pttravel
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith Has anything physically pushed you out of your comfort zone? I know you've mentioned hiking and other challenging trips #PTTravel
A4: Only last week I was on the water, learning how to surf. That was definitely out of my comfort zone but I loved every minute of it. #PTTravel

Q5 What things would you like to do in future on trips that either make you feel comfort or get you completely out of your comfort zone?
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith Felt/did the same on a visit to the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum. #pttravel
A5: Probably a combination of both. I like to get out of my comfort zone and try new things - that's what living is for. It would be boring to do the same things all the time, and stay in the same small box #PTTravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A4 I can’t share photos but the first thing that came to mind here was some of the toilet facilities I’ve experienced across the world! *enter photo of whole in the ground here* 🤣 #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @aok_NW Ooh yes I had a great app in Japan that used the camera to translate writing to English #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A5: Leave preconceptions at home, turn off cellphone, ignore the travel blog, wander away from the map. #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel Only when I was learning Nordic ski-ing. I got dangerously out of control & headed for a wood. Later, the instructor told me that falling over was a legitimate method of stopping.
A5 #PTTravel I need to go to South America. I still haven’t been & I think that would be out of my comfort zone because I’m unfamiliar with it.
replying to @NomadKeith @NomadKeith Yes, I found Auschwitz Birkenau pushed me way out of my comfort zone. A good thing because I won't forget it but a woman was there in our tour group who was a baby liberated and lost her mother very close to the end. Made it hit hard #PTTravel

replying to @OanaRoua @OanaRoua I'm not a great surfer. Definitely not a natural but enjoyed trying it #PTTravel
