replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @findinganeish @RTWBarefoot We’re looking at a Hadrien’s Wall hike for next year. I have limits though due to chronic pain so I’d bring the car & meet my O.H at certain points. He’s a keen hiker! #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie @RTWBarefoot Yes, 100%! Whether it’s the Pennines or greater Glasgow, I admire his ability just to get on with it. #PTTravel

The biggest pro of a road-trip was that we were fully on our own schedule https://t.co/VkSY1XES7z
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A5. I’m keen to do the Speyside Way sometime soon, and would love/hate to do some long coach journeys in Australia and the States. I just need to make peace with giving up the time and not stopping to take pictures every five minutes. #PTTravel

Q6 What advice do you have for travellers wanting to take more trips over land rather than flights or ships?
replying to @RooLovesTravel @RooLovesTravel @kate_frankie @RTWBarefoot Ah, nice! You can only do what you can do. I’m sure you’ll enjoy whatever walking you manage. #PTTravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A5. Have always been keen to do the overnight Caledonian train from London to Scotland 🚂 Have heard mixed reviews but not dug into it any further #PTTravel
A6 #PTTravel I guess know your geography. Know if you can get there overland. Know what you want to see & if you can book ahead, do. This was Page, Arizona on another trip.
A6 The two Ps - planning and patience, whether that be driving routes or inevitable issues with public transport…particularly on Sundays! #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A6 Ignite your imagination! I’ve been watching c4 The Last Overland and that has been giving me bucket-list inspiration! (All-be-it I’m toning down my ambitions a wee bit!) #pttravel
replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A6. I don’t understand why anyone would travel by ship, to be honest, but I’d definitely recommend walking/cycling/riding town to town, even if it’s after a flight. It’s a great experience and a far greater sense of achievement than driving or taking a taxi. #PTTravel

A4 Pros - scenery, experiencing more, going slower, straight to landmarks or cities, less waiting than airports, can move around train or have a rest stop in car/bus
Cons - numb bum!, can be tiring, drives can be long, could start very early, flying can be quick
