replying to @last_adventurer @last_adventurer A6) Yes, wicked thunder, lightning and rain storm at 7200 feet in Enchantment Lakes Basin In the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, we had bolts coming down close and frequently. Our tent was pitched in a low spot, we got in and sat on our sleeping pads for two tense hours! #Parkchat

A7 Parts of the Valley Loop Trail in Yosemite NP were folded with snowmelt. knee deep in some places. Made for a very cold barefoot wade! Lesson: toss the Five Fingers in the pack for water obsticals. #ParkChat

replying to @last_adventurer @last_adventurer A5 I've had close calls with motorcycles on trails. A scary and infuriating experience every time. Only recourse is a withering glare, and later a few strongly worded letters opposing such vehicles on trails. #parkchat

replying to @last_adventurer @last_adventurer A6) This was not at a National Park, but as a child of the Great Lakes, I learned a lesson about rising tides the hard way when I took a trip east. I thought I was going to drown trying to walk back to the shore against the steady pull ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿ– #ParkChat

replying to @last_adventurer @last_adventurer A6. Fallen trees. We went into a section of Hoosier National Forest several years ago day after huge storm blew thru.
