Q1. Is there a “defining” river within our National Parks or public lands? If yes, which one and why? #ParkChat

A1. So many choices. Tonight I'm going with the Colorado, which runs through many national park sites. Yellowstone is runner-up. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute #parkchat A1 I'd have to go with the Colorado. Goes through 9 parks and NPS Rec areas. https://t.co/rBlPgsrlw5

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A1. The Colorado River comes to mind first for me. Just knew from the time I was a kid that it carved the Grand Canyon. #parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A1) For me it is the Mississippi River (A National River and Recreation Area near where I grew up). The history of those who have used the river intersects American history in so many ways and touches various public land units. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A1: um, I’d say the Rio Grande because it defines the edge of Big Bend and I’ve spent some memorable moments along the banks. #ParkChat

A1 It doesn't really pass through #nationalparks but it is surrounded by public lands: the mighty Mississippi River. I feel this one defines much of our country in the past and today. #ParkChat
