Q3. Rivers offer an abundance of recreation. What’s the best river adventure out there within a National Park (or more likely a National Forest)? #ParkChat?

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A3 Not ashamed to admit I can't swim so we don't do too many water activities. I enjoy sitting by them and listening to them! #ParkChat

A3. Descending the Grand Canyon in a dory, a la Kevin Fedarko in The Emerald Mile. Talk about a bucket-list trip. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A3: I’d love to raft the Colorado through the Grand Canyon. What a trip that would be #ParkChat

A3 Rafting is always a god time. but depending on the river, floating in a tube will do, the Buffalo National River! #ParkChat

A3 I'm going to recycle an answer from a previous #parkchat and go with rafting down the Kobuk River during caribou migration season - which would be my ultimate National Park wish

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A3 #parkchat. Well, I remember the white-water rafting in New River being faster and more fun. The other adventure was in Denali tho, and the thought of having done that still makes me smile.

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A3: Flaming Gorge is reservoir formed by a dam in the Green River. It's depths are beautiful and clear with a hint of gem. Nothing like cutting through the glass on summer day. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A3) The best river adventure in the National Parks is probably at Grand Canyon down the Colorado though walking the Narrows along the Virgin River in Zion is pretty good and quite a bit cheaper. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A3) Well, they are NPS units, but the ride up to Rainbow Bridge NM from Glen Canyon NRA is on our must do list! #parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A3: based on experience it’s hiking up one in a canyon. (I might also say kayaking rapids, but I’ve never actually done that, but in my imagination it is probably the best thing involving a river) #ParkChat

replying to @kristarsha @kristarsha @Wild_Tribute @BigBendNPS A3 We kayaked thru Santa Elena Canyon - was less then remarkable mostly because the river levels were so low. Did grab a few pics illegally entering Mexico #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A3. If you have never rafted before, there are fewer better rivers for a first-time whitewater adventure than @NewRiverNPS #parkchat
