A5 I learned that a canyon is wider than deep, and a gorge is deeper than wide - my home state has the Genesee Gorge, which is nicknamed the Grand Canyon of the East, so I don't quite know how to answer the 2nd part of the question #parkchat

Q6 #ParkChat We have “3,200 free-flowing river segments in the United States that are believed to possess one or more "outstandingly remarkable" natural or cultural values judged to be at least regionally significant”. Why is this important? We can we do to keep rivers flowing?

A6. In short, because so many waterways are dammed. Even today, less than ¼ of 1% of America's river are designated Wild & Scenic. I think it's something like 12,000 miles total. #ParkChat
