replying to @Parkasaur @Parkasaur A4) Alas, I've actually had this happen, and unfortunately, I had to bypass the Petrified Forest on one of my trips west. The next time though, I'll know better! #ParkChat

I'm sad to miss #ParkChat, but a local trail recently reopened after the fire and my son invited me on a sunset ride.

A6 The interpretive fossil tree @YellowstoneNPS is only one of many redwood fossils in the park from an earlier, wetter climate. #parkchat

A6) While not a display, the large ranch house at Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve was made out of limestone and you can totally see the fossils in some of the limestone bricks! #parkchat #kansas #NationalFossilDay @nature_kansas

A7 The role of blue-green algae, fossilized here as stromatolites @GlacierNPS, is super important to creating an oxygen environment that humans could live in. Without the algae, we wouldn't exist. #parkchat

replying to @Parkasaur @Parkasaur #parkchat A7 to think that dry climates today were once seas or jungles shows us that yes, the climate can change given enough time and factors. We should take heed!

replying to @Parkasaur @Parkasaur A8) There's never been a time I haven't been wowed, in one way or another, by ALL of my park experiences, but learning about something that I never knew existed- is pretty awesome! #ParkChat

replying to @Parkasaur @Parkasaur #parkchat A8 with two boys in tow, learning about new dinosaurs and ancient animals is always a highlight, and gets talked about for weeks after! They even break out their cameras for those.

replying to @Parkasaur @Parkasaur @59NationalParks The Quarry Visitor Center @DinosaurNPS is not only a fabulous place to see fossils, but also a great expression of mid-century modern architecture. We’ve been twice in the last 6 years. #parkchat
