Q11: When you roadtrip National Parks, do you plan a careful itinerary or do you wing it and just drive through? #ParkChat

A11: We travel full-time, so a bit of both. We plan about a month out, and it changes constantly. But the biggest thing for us is campgrounds. As far as day-to-day hikes and activities, we scope things out on day one and then decide the next few days. #ParkChat https://t.co/tQhdvDG1we

replying to @GalsWander @GalsWander A11 if you're staying overnight you kind of have to plan ahead. For day trips I'll often just wing it. #ParkChat

A11: I'm a planner whether my roadtrip involves national parks or not. However, depending on my familiarity with a park I wing it because it's difficult to research ALL the options when visiting. #ParkChat

A11 Figure out how much time you need in the park, then multiply by 2 #parkchat

replying to @GalsWander @GalsWander A11. A little of both. A few spots we want to see and a little exploring between those stops #ParkChat

A11 It depends! We research to see how busy an area will be to see if we need reservations. Otherwise, we have a plan, but make changes as we go. Last winter, we got caught in snow in Williamsburg, so instead of taking the coast back, we headed inland. #parkchat

replying to @GalsWander @GalsWander A11) I'm definitely a meticulous planner (I'm a librarian, after all), but depending on my destination and how much time I have, I may just wing it with a drive-thru. #ParkChat

replying to @GalsWander @GalsWander A11) #ParkChat A little bit of both, certainly it takes a lot of planning to really get the most out of a trip but a certain level of planned cushion room for "winging it" to experience the adventure of discovering the unexpected places that take your breath away !

replying to @GalsWander @GalsWander A11) More or less a careful itinerary. We often "roadtrip" by flying and then renting a car (usually on points) for a week or two. #parkchat

A11 #ParkChat Hubby and I love to plan, so we do. But then we’ve done enough research that if we run into something unexpected, it’s pretty easy to adjust. For longer trips, we tend to plan a “spontaneous” day so we can replan partway through if we choose.
