A2 Not at all! We just know we have to be cautiouswhile driving. That said, we always talk to a ranger about road conditions first. #parkchat

A2 I hesitate to drive these kinds of roads because I have a 2WD camper van. Not exactly the best type of vehicle for these roads. I need at least a minimally maintained gravel road to ensure I don't get stuck. #ParkChat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @WindCaveNPS A2 #parkchat The Mt Cheam access road I mentioned in A1 is an unmaintained unpaved road. However it doesn’t deter the hundreds of cars that attempt it on any given summer weekend.
I’m pretty confident now that I can tackle other unmaintained roads & explore beyond the pavement!

A2 Actually, I have been on the treacherous road to the Spiral Jetty in Utah - it starts at Golden Spike NHS, so it's kinda National Park related #parkchat

I scratched up one lease having to back around a narrow bushy road in Montana where firefighters were busy with something or other. All part of the adventure! #ParkChat

I especially enjoy camping at these primitive far away places, when allowed.

A2: I've never owned an appropriate vehicle to risk driving on a road that says "no road maintenance." I'd consider trying it in an appropriate rental vehicle. #ParkChat

Ended up on some random road looking at the pronghorns and finally thought, "Uhh, I don't think this is the park." #ParkChat

A3 Camping in Solis 2 on River Road. I would hazard there were no other humans for at least 20 miles. I have never experienced such amazing quiet. #parkchat
