I plan on planning to join #ParkChat tonight, just as soon as I can figure out this #NewTwitter? Seriously?

replying to @MattsRoadTrip A2. Since I live on the road, I usually choose to visit parks that happen to be along my route. I'll search maps & make detours to see a park I haven't been to before. I especially seek out #PublicLands with free camping, such as @BLMNational or @forestservice land. #ParkChat

replying to @mjn126 @mjn126 @59NationalParks @Wild_Tribute A1) #Parkchat a bit of both but the 2020 tour will be very well planned, since others will be depending on me to be exactly where I say I am to screen the film! Of course. there will be cushioning between each stop so we can explore, I've started planning more than a year out.

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @Wild_Tribute Plan and happily so. I like to know where I’m going to be and when.

And then have a gov shutdown happen and you have to change all your plans while you’re waiting for your connecting flight in ATL.

Not like I’m speaking from experience, or anything.

replying to @MattsRoadTrip A3. I absolutely prefer to camp in my Airstream. I prefer backcountry campsites if they're available, or more primitive developed campgrounds. #ParkChat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip @Wild_Tribute Usually based on my desire to see a new part of the country or something specific. Then, I fill in the blanks. I wanted to see Olympic in 2017… that got me to Rainier and Crater Lake, too!

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A2) For me parks call out, a few of them repeatedly, but others are just those yet to be checked off my list of intriguing places I've always wanted to explore. #ParkChat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip A4. I'm a firm believer in checking in with visitor's centers and asking rangers about their favorite things to do. I also get tips from fellow travelers I meet in czmogrounds, on the road and on Twitter! But, I always stay flexible in case anything catches my eye! #ParkChat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip #parkchat A3 yes. Haha. We try for camping first to save money in nearby #nationalforests, then cabins nearby (@KOAKampgrounds cabins are our favorite), rarely we splurge and stay in the park lodges or campsites. The camping in this @GrandTetonNPS photo was free!

A4 I do activities early in the morning to beat the crowds, like popular hiking trails and waterfalls. In the evenings I find a place to relax and catch the sunset. #ParkChat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @Wild_Tribute A1. Months in advance! I made the backcountry campsite reservations for our September @PicturedRocksNL backpacking trip in January to ensure we got the itinerary we wanted. #ParkChat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip @Wild_Tribute I try and go to a different Vis Center or “region” of the park each day. See something new. #ParkChat #FindYourPark
