Q11. Sorry #ParkChat, but we have to ask. How do you prepare for a Government Shutdown that impedes your travel plans?

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A11 Research wherever you're headed. Then at NP, stop at visitor centers to get advice from rangers/volunteer to get idea on best places to visit. #parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A11) It hasn't effected my travel plans so far though it might at the end of the month when I head to Southern Nevada. Though has really stopped my volunteering at John Muir National Historic Site for right now. #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute #parkchat A11 we brought extra toilet paper and @Clorox wipes. 😉 But really, be sure your destination is still open. Read the news briefs. Be ready to leave if told to do so. And call your representatives and tell them to get back to work!

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A11) With hope! Flying across the ocean Monday and just wondering about security, safety and the folks working for us and not getting paid! #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A11. I think it's less about preparing and more about adapting. Private concessioners were operating in some parks (my friend got her mule trip in Grand Canyon). Otherwise, on-the-fly research for alternatives. A chance to discover new places! #ParkChat

A11 My serious answer is that this planning involves more than just thinking about a trip. We have to realize we are all one with each other and with nature, and to not protect our lands and each other is to lock ourselves in a cycle of suffering #parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A11. Hasn't yet. We went to a state park on New Year's Day for a #firstday saunter. Other than Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore there isn't a NP property nearby. #parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A11 I’m hoping 🤞🏼the shutdown will be long over by early March when I’ve planned on visiting some NPS sites in AZ. #ParkChat
