replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A6: Pre-cook the food, so it's just heating? Backpacking meals are quick & easy. Eat light during the day so you can take the food with you. #ParkChat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip A6. Precooked meals in vacuum sealed bags that can be boiled in the bag are great for camping! Also, BBQ restaurants that sell meats by the pound can be a great source of delicious, precooked food and by the pound is more affordable! #ParkChat

A6 Grab a $5 @littlecaesars pizza on the way into the park. It'll be good for 2-3 days. #ParkChat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A6. We’ve learned from river trips that making a huge stack of breakfast burritos at home and warming them at camp is never the wrong decision. #parkchat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A6 #parkchat Definitely plan ahead! I like combining fresh and pantry items every day, but YMMV.

And make sure you use your cooler properly so that you're not having to worry about ice every day. https://t.co/8GpG0z2FFf

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A6 I’m no good for advice on that. I just go the easy route and eat dehydrated backpacker meals. I know it’s horrible! But I actually like them. XD #parkchat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A6. More and more hotels seem to have some form of a free breakfast--some nicer than others. I do try taking advantage of them. Unless I catch wind of a really good breakfast or donut place. #parkchat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip #parkchat A6 well, we just spend 7 nights outside @YellowstoneNPS at a @super8 and cooked everything in our air fryer and instant pot. Ate pizza out one night. At $80/night it was an incredible deal! Breakfast at hotel & lunch is in the cooler. Sandwiches, coffee, etc.

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A6) #Parkchat Make sure you know everyone's diet and preferences, write out a menu and agree on who will bring what -if going with a group, this way you save space and don't waste food. Freeze water Bottles, use those instead of ice so your food doesn't get wet, dry ice at DRTO

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A6 I don't even plan well at home. We eat out and have snacks on trips. If there is a microwave in the room and no restaurant, sometimes we'll stop at a grocery store along the way, buy some food, and have soup and crackers. #ParkChat

A6. Yes. Love ranger-guided hikes, love backcountry. Enjoy scenic drives but find congestion frustrating, so tend to do those early or off-season. Love it all! #ParkChat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A6: depends on if we are driving or flying. We always bring some freeze-dried stuff, instant oatmeal packets, tea, snacks. If driving we’ll bring easy stuff to cook. Or shop at a grocery store before entering park. #parkchat
