replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A5) If I'm going up to Yosemite for a day visit I'll stop & pick up a sandwich which I'll have half at Washburn Point & half at Valley View. Other times its it could be a one of the restaurant in the park. #ParkChat

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs @MattsRoadTrip We prefer to see as much as we can as we're often on a limited time basis. #ParkChat

RT @theRangerLife: @MattsRoadTrip A5. We usually pack food for lunch to maximize time in the park (and save cost) and eat locally for dinneā¦

RT @MattsRoadTrip: Q6 - What are some tips for planning meals during multi-day park visits? #ParkChat https://t.co/FXRg9LOOqV

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip Like you, We cook as much as we can but try and sample local fare when possible. Mostly a budget move. #ParkChat

A5. Freeze Dried Food. If you add a pack of ramen, often sufficient to share between two. Are we also the only ones who only eat fast food when on the road from adventure to adventure? #ParkChat

RT @MattsRoadTrip: Q6 - What are some tips for planning meals during multi-day park visits? #ParkChat https://t.co/FXRg9LOOqV

RT @MattsRoadTrip: A5. I cook nearly all my own meals and buy food from restaurants a couple meals a week. I love cooking for myself and itā¦

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A6: Pre-cook the food, so it's just heating? Backpacking meals are quick & easy. Eat light during the day so you can take the food with you. #ParkChat

RT @MattsRoadTrip: Q5 - What do you do for meal time? Do you cook your own food, bring prepared food or dine at restaurants or cafes? #Parkā¦

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A5. If weāre camping we try to cook our own as much as possible. Park restaurants seem to mostly be either nondescript food service or else pretty pricey. #ParkChat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A5: usually a combination. We do love breakfast skillet camping food. It also depends if we are flying or driving. #parkchat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip A6. Precooked meals in vacuum sealed bags that can be boiled in the bag are great for camping! Also, BBQ restaurants that sell meats by the pound can be a great source of delicious, precooked food and by the pound is more affordable! #ParkChat

replying to @coasthikergirl @coasthikergirl @MattsRoadTrip I eat many salads and grilled cheese sandwiches on trips. #ParkChat

replying to @Stars252525 @Stars252525 @MattsRoadTrip Me too but I always include a little #bacon #ParkChat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A6. We always stock up with food the night before entering the park and keep a case of water in the car #ParkChat

replying to @carfreerunner @carfreerunner @MattsRoadTrip @VacationRaces Cool! 2016 Grand Teton was my first NP race and my first NP visit I was in such awe when we landed...Iāve been hooked on half marathons and NPs ever since. Since then Iāve run Grand Canyon, Yosemite, and Lake Powell. Glacier & Mt Rushmore on the calendar for 2019 #ParkChat

replying to @louisbink @louisbink @MattsRoadTrip Heās good at Twitter. #ParkChat

A6 Grab a $5 @littlecaesars pizza on the way into the park. It'll be good for 2-3 days. #ParkChat

replying to @tthrash @tthrash @MattsRoadTrip Free hotel breakfasts and snacks in the car are great essentials! #ParkChat

replying to @DryTortugasFilm @DryTortugasFilm @MattsRoadTrip A5 Depends. My propane camp stove seems to have died, so I'm not sure what we'll do in 2019 & beyond. Maybe the Coleman propane canister was empty when we bought it. #parkchat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A6. Weāve learned from river trips that making a huge stack of breakfast burritos at home and warming them at camp is never the wrong decision. #parkchat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip Q5: Cook our own food. Every once in awhile we will eat out, when we are out and about! #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute I won't say I *never* eat fast food, I just don't find much for a quick bit except near the cities. IF it is a long trip through populated areas (Texas to Michigan, sure thing) #ParkChat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip
@MattsRoadTrip A6 #parkchat Definitely plan ahead! I like combining fresh and pantry items every day, but YMMV.
And make sure you use your cooler properly so that you're not having to worry about ice every day. https://t.co/8GpG0z2FFf

replying to @BarnetteJason @BarnetteJason @littlecaesars Haha! Sort of! I get the philosophy. maybe not little ceaser's though lol! #ParkChat

replying to @BarnetteJason @BarnetteJason @littlecaesars Not a bad call ;) hot and ready! #ParkChat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A6 Iām no good for advice on that. I just go the easy route and eat dehydrated backpacker meals. I know itās horrible! But I actually like them. XD #parkchat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A6. More and more hotels seem to have some form of a free breakfast--some nicer than others. I do try taking advantage of them. Unless I catch wind of a really good breakfast or donut place. #parkchat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip @BarnetteJason Love a park lodge, but often do Airbnb because itās less expensive #ParkChat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip #parkchat A6 well, we just spend 7 nights outside @YellowstoneNPS at a @super8 and cooked everything in our air fryer and instant pot. Ate pizza out one night. At $80/night it was an incredible deal! Breakfast at hotel & lunch is in the cooler. Sandwiches, coffee, etc.

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A6) Prepare food that requires little or no refrigeration, pack all of the food into sealed containers and place out of view of animals. #ParkChat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A6) #Parkchat Make sure you know everyone's diet and preferences, write out a menu and agree on who will bring what -if going with a group, this way you save space and don't waste food. Freeze water Bottles, use those instead of ice so your food doesn't get wet, dry ice at DRTO

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A5) All of the above depending on the circumstance, sometimes it comes down to sausages on the fire. #ParkChat

replying to @nightborntravel @nightborntravel @MattsRoadTrip Not horrible if youāve been on the trail all day. So nice to sit in camp and eat something hot and hearty #ParkChat

replying to @naturetechfam @naturetechfam @MattsRoadTrip @YellowstoneNPS @super8 Wow, perfect! #Parkchat

replying to @MattsRoadTrip @MattsRoadTrip A6. Keep meals simple. Cold cereal & fruit for breakfast. Sandwiches for lunch, etc. #parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute Fast food? Certainly in a pinch, like from a break on a long driving day, but not as a routine. #parkchat

Q7 - Do you like to hike or explore the backcountry while visiting our parks? Or do you prefer scenic drives? What about guided tours? #ParkChat

replying to @mamanobles @mamanobles @MattsRoadTrip @BarnetteJason We donāt find AirBnB to be the deal it use to be unless your in a bigger group #ParkChat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute Donāt think you are the only ones though we try to patronize local or regional chains for fast food. #ParkChat We Love local diners too.

replying to @WildWithinHer @WildWithinHer I've been told that El Tovar has had the same Fred Harvey management since day #!. It just has another name. I make it a habit of visiting places associated with its past such as https://t.co/WRMkiAh5ES #parkchat
