replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A2) #Parkchat This one I saw near Lake Pontchartrain Basin, I believe. was driving from Texas to Key West to Los Angeles and stopped in New Orleans on the way to the Keys.
replying to @naturetechfam @naturetechfam @59NationalParks @GreatBasinNPS @WindCaveNPS Wow. Caption = Beautiful Solitude. Great pic #ParkChat
replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A2: was just looking at this photo from @GrandCanyonNPS I love this view from the South Rim. #ParkChat
replying to @OutdoorAdv360 @OutdoorAdv360 @59NationalParks @GreatBasinNPS @WindCaveNPS Thank you! #parkchat
Q4 #ParkChat What’s the closest publicly protected forest near your home? What kind of trees are protected in this forest? What’s special about this place to you?
replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute It feels this way at Big Bend. Not much focus on the tress along the Rio Grande or up in the Chisos, but those trees make it such a birding hot spot. #ParkChat @BigBendNPS
replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A3 - If you put a tree in your backseat - does it help if your car is a convertible? 🌵🌴 #ParkChat
replying to @NakMakFeegle @NakMakFeegle @59NationalParks @GreatBasinNPS Lime green canopy! #ParkChat
replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A3 #Parkchat I think the trees of the High Sierra are overlooked. It takes so much for them to survive the harsh climate. There are some beautiful ones.
replying to @Stars252525 @Stars252525 @Wild_Tribute Yes, I think you just answered for me, too. #parkchat
A3. At a park like @BandelierNPS, the focus is on the cavates and culture. The Ponderosa pine forest atop the canyon doesn't get much attention, but it's beautiful, as are the cottonwoods in the canyon floor. #ParkChat
replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A3) #Parkchat The @DryTortugasNPS since there are mostly shrubs there and it's all about the reef and Ft. Jefferson
replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A3: Sorry I'm late! I'm going to go with @HaleakalaNPS! Did you know that redwoods grow within the boundaries of the park? #ParkChat
replying to @EPCOTExplorer @EPCOTExplorer @59NationalParks @Wild_Tribute @EvergladesNPS @BigCypressNPS @BiscayneNPS I love mangroves! Such an amazing ecosystem. #ParkChat
replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A3) One might think that with Yosemite National Park until they realize that during their camping trip John Muir convinced President Theodore Roosevelt to include Yosemite Valley & the Mariposa Grove to the park. #ParkChat
replying to @t_jh2009 @t_jh2009 @59NationalParks @GreatBasinNPS Unbelievable, never knew that. #ParkChat
replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A3: I would say the Desert Parks but when you think about it, it is the scarcity or the way they demure to the landscape that makes them special #ParkChat
replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute #parkchat A3 with everything else going on @YellowstoneNPS, I suspect tree peeping takes a back seat to many visitors. Not so much for us.
replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute Biscayne- everyone focuses on the water but they’re missing one of the largest examples of a mangrove forest that’s protected by the NPS! #FindYourPark #ParkChat
replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A4 #ParkChat Sunnyside Acres is a lovely protected forest not far from home. The trail is a perfect 5k loop in any weather. @DiscoverSurrey https://t.co/RRH51pJ7XQ
replying to @NatlParkPodcast @NatlParkPodcast Maple trees in McKittrick Canyon are phenomenal in the Fall. #ParkChat
A3 Definitely @YosemiteNPS. the valley completely overshadows the amazing sequoia trees. #parkchat
A4 #ParkChat We're full-time on the road, but our home for 16 years was Chicago. You'd be amazed at the amount of forest protected by the Cook County Forest Preserve. It's northern IL, so mostly different deciduous trees. https://t.co/wdIzGFGpcF
replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A3. Glacier is on the list for me. I think most think of mountains, lakes and wildlife, but trail like the Trail of the Cedars also come to mind quick. #Parkchat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A4 Probably Lincoln National Forest in New Mexico. Aspens, firs, pines, junipers, pinons. Love it because I've been going to Cloudcroft area since I was a kid. #ParkChat
replying to @WildWithinHer @WildWithinHer @EPCOTExplorer @59NationalParks @Wild_Tribute @EvergladesNPS @BigCypressNPS @BiscayneNPS I got to canoe thru a mangrove swamp @VisitTheBahamas and it was an unforgettable experience! #parkchat
replying to @SaveTheDesert @SaveTheDesert @Wild_Tribute @BigBendNPS I'll second that. I have fond memories of birding Big Bend. #parkchat

A4 Ozark NF just a few miles to the north. The state tree is the loblolly pine, but it seems to me it's more hardwoods up there #parkchat
replying to @publiclandlvr @publiclandlvr @Wild_Tribute @HaleakalaNPS #Parkchat Some guys I was with ran out of gas at the top of Haleakale, it was a lovely walk down the mountain for me, I went alone it was so peaceful and when I came back I found out the NPS had searched the guys and yelled at them for letting me go alone to get gas.
replying to @publiclandlvr @publiclandlvr @HaleakalaNPS What?! Really? Fun fact of the night #ParkChat

replying to @Stars252525 @Stars252525 @59NationalParks I love both the Lincoln and the Gila, neither of which are what most people think of when they think of NM, but they make up so much of the state. #ParkChat
replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A3 It's definitely true of Mt. St. Helens! Most people only think of the active volcanoe, but there are real giants to be found in the Monument, and even in the blast zone the young forest is beautiful and vibrant - especially in fall! #ParkChat
replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute A1: Ponderosa Pine because it was first tree I ever enjoyed smelling in a National Park. To me it smells like vanilla! #ParkChat #trees
Q5. Healing Forests in Japan and Korea are testament to the healing power of Trees. Do you concur? Will this practice make its way to our public lands? #ParkChat
replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A4 #ParkChat It isn’t a forest but it’s even more biodiverse: @nature_kansas maintains the #Tallgrass National Prairie. It has roots as deep as some of our tallest trees.
replying to @NakMakFeegle @NakMakFeegle @Wild_Tribute Great example! I was amazed to learn about the forest when I visited last spring. #ParkChat
A4 California Oaks in Joseph Grant County Park. That's home. I can hike from my house to a hill trail with such trees, one of the main considerations for relocating to that part of San Jose, CA #parkchat
replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks #parkchat A4 We'll, we live IN @BlackHillsNF so I guess that is the best answer! 😁
