I kept thinking I should be reaching that water, where I would look for birds, and was fooled. Just like I had always read about. #parkchat

replying to @Wild_Tribute @Wild_Tribute It's a long story, but when the canal that carried water from the Colorado River to the Imperial Valley silted up & they couldn't get permission from the gov't to dig a new one, they dug one in Mexico, and then spring floods flooded the whole valley #parkchat

A6 BLM lands are much less visited (no footprints & no others than our party at the Cadiz Sand Dunes, Mojave Trails National Monument) and there are fewer restrictions on camping than in national parks #parkchat
