replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A11) Geez, that looks like a list of characters that you'd see at ASU Football tailgate party. 😄 #ParkChat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @Wild_Tribute A9 #ParkChat didnt realize thunderstorms roll in & out of Death Valley so suddenly! Thankfully a ranger warned me so I timed my hike ok, but still when I summitted Wildrose it was freezing & windy & a huge crack of thunder sounded right behind my head. I got below treeline ASAP

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks @Wild_Tribute A7: I’m making a list of all the animals I’ve never heard of listed in these answers. I have seen javalinas though. I don’t have pictures. #parkchat

replying to @Stars252525 @Stars252525 It’s a rock formation that has been made “smooth pitted” by blowing sand. Cool looking really. #ParkChat

replying to @iStefPayne @iStefPayne @Wild_Tribute Thanks, here's one of my whole trip around the World. #ParkChat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A11) Probably all of them, but unfamiliar with a Hueco Tank or Tafoli. Some glyphs here in desert varnish. #Parkchat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A11. I’ve seen them except I’m not sure what tafoli is? Arizona has magnificent riparian habitat #ParkChat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks #parkchat A11 Riparian at the Great Sand Dunes. A great place to cool off! 😁

A12 #ParkChat @Wild_Tribute and I have begun the long and painstaking process of selecting this year’s Hall of Fame class. There are so many great candidates! Mark your calendar. We’ll be announcing the inductees on April 3rd.

replying to @HubbardJeff @HubbardJeff Rock pitted smooth by blowing sand. Oxymoron I know. #ParkChat

Can I give a worthy shout out to @GuadalupeMtnsNP and @BigBendNPS? Two of my fave desert parks. #parkchat

replying to @EverybodysNPs @EverybodysNPs @59NationalParks @Wild_Tribute Me too! I haven’t heard of so many of the animals talked about #parkchat

replying to @iStefPayne @iStefPayne @59NationalParks @Stars252525 Unless they don't leave you alone. While camping near Prescott, AZ in college, I once had to (literally) punch a javelina through my tent to get it to leave us alone after hours of issues. They can be annoying af, especially since their vision is so terrible. #parkchat

@59NationalParks @JoshuaTreeNPS A5. Stay on the trail & LNT. #ParkChat
Another thought, remove federal ownership & return them to States that can afford to staff Rangers to avoid federal red tape & shutdowns.

Too good, #ParkChat. Always guaranteed to be one of the best hours of the week. See everyone next week. Stay warm, stay safe, get out there!

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks A12. Yeah, my internet DESERTed me right before #parkchat started.

replying to @TUmarkwoods @TUmarkwoods @WildWithinHer Yeah, if I do something like that it would be an early morning visit after an overnight stop before continuing on to Sequoia. The visit to Sequoia/Kings is part of a tweetup of a bunch of us from #ParkChat. The power of the internet at work!

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks Just that I stopped by John Muir NHS today and the staff is very happy to be back at work. #ParkChat

replying to @59NationalParks @59NationalParks Riparian habitat is found along creeks, rivers. Pothole has more than one meaning. Can be a depression on the landscape that holds water seasonally, developed after a block of ice was left from a glacier. Can also mean a hole worn in rocky streambed from another rock. #parkchat
